Your Outward Actions Are Little More Than A Picture Of Your Inner Convictions

“So don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time.”
Galatians 6:9 (NLT)

OCTOBER 3 - The future we desire is connected to the seed we hold in our hands. Many times people tell me, “I don’t have any seed to sow.” If that is true, then God appears to be a liar. In 2 Corinthians 9:10, the Scripture tells us God gives seed to the one who sows. One of the reasons we may not have seed today is because we were unwilling to sow what we had yesterday. God does not hand out seed to just anyone; He gives seed to those who sow. Without sowing, our future looks no brighter than our present circumstances. Why is that? We
cannot create a better tomorrow if we don’t sow better seed.

Over the years I observed how few people really understand this principle. All of us know it, but only a few apply it. There is no greater revelation than the power of the seed. Jesus placed more emphasis on His parable of the seed and soil that on any other parable. Our future lies within the seeds we plant today. We must not limit seed to money. Seed is anything you do that benefits another—

  • Your smile
  • An encouraging word
  • Praying for another
  • Showing hospitality

As we apply this principle, we see an increased opportunity to put it into practice. So don’t get tired of doing what is good, as the Scripture tells us, for we have a bright and bountiful future when sowing becomes our daily focus.

Father, I thank You that I don’t get tired of doing what is good. I reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time because I refuse to give up.
