A Seed Never Sown Will Produce A Harvest Never Grown

“…for whatever a man sows that and that only is what he will reap.”
Galatians 6:7 (AMP)

AUGUST 3 - Any farmer knows that it is foolish to expect a harvest from seed he never sows. In all of life, there is no such thing as a harvest that did not first begin as a seed. There are many today in the body of Christ who continually beg God for a harvest, although there was never a time when they ever sowed a seed. Though diverse in appearance and habits, John and Jesus were of the same family, the same seed, planning the same harvest. And it is interesting to note that as John’s fundamental ministry was to prepare Israel for Jesus’ ministry, so must we prepare for the harvest God so intricately planned. Never complain to Heaven about a harvest from a seed you have never sown. In fact, even those who sow never need to approach God about their harvest. The law of sowing and reaping is intact. If you sow, you will reap. You don’t need to spend many hours in prayer for a harvest.

• Just sow the seed
• Wait in faith
• And expect that the harvest will come

Soon, you will find it coming to the shoreline of your life, sailing upon every wave.

Father, I thank You that I understand that whatever I sow is what I reap. I choose to sow the right seeds today that will produce the future You desire for my life. I won’t grow weary in well doing, for I know that in due time I will reap a harvest if I do not faint.

Your Seed Of Today Will Create Your Harvest Of Tomorrow

“But this I say: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.”
2 Corinthians 9:6 (NKJV)

AUGUST 2 - As Roman flags fluttered in the warm breezes of Palestine, restlessness indignantly characterized the land, oozing like olive oil from a fractured lamp. An unpleasant reminder that Israel was not yet free, faint whispers of a King, a Liberator, the long-awaited Messiah, rode on the coattails of those breezes: hopeful, ready, uncertain. And as John began sowing the seed, baptizing in the River Jordan, Jesus and Heaven prepared to reap the harvest. The law of sowing and reaping persistently governs your entire life, whether or not you realize it! As with any law, you can either work it to your advantage, or experience the consequences it may bring. God gave each of us a method to create the future He called us to live; He does not just give us what we want because we ask for it. Your seed of today creates your harvest of tomorrow, therefore:

• What kind of relationships do you desire to attain?
• What kind of life would you like to live?
• How much money would you like to acquire?

God tells us, “Whatever a man sows that shall he reap.” So often we erroneously believe that God is going to make our relationships work, give us a fantastic life, and shower finances on us like a steady drizzle in the middle of spring. But if we are honest with ourselves, we know this is not the case in our personal life. God told Joshua, “You will make your way prosperous and you will have good success if you meditate, speak, and act on My Word.” What you sow you certainly reap. We must always remember, however, we can never harvest from a seed never sown. Choose to sow your life today!

Father, I thank You that I sow bountifully and therefore I reap bountifully.

Wisdom Must Be Chosen; Understanding Must Be Pursued

“Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.”
Proverbs 4:7 (NLT)

AUGUST 1 - “Why Mom? Why Mom? Why Mom?” Even preschool children are on a quest for wisdom, and for many years, my passion was to know what God thought and said about any given subject. Now, I want to know why God said what He said. I have come to understand that wisdom is what God said…understanding is why God said it. If we as believers can understand why God said something, we will have no trouble doing what He plainly instructed us to do.

I must make this clear: You cannot begin to pursue understanding until you first choose wisdom. One must willingly do what He said before one can qualify to ask God what He meant by His statement. You see this mistake in many young people as they are trained in the way they should go. Their father may say, “Son, I want you to take out the trash right now.” The son may respond, “Why now? Can’t I do it later?” At times, the body of Christ acts the same way. I truly believe that God will not grant me understanding until I first obey His Word with unquestioned compliance.

We must first choose wisdom, and then passionately pursue understanding if we desire to mature into the likeness of Christ Jesus.

Father, I thank You that I choose wisdom as it is the principal thing. Though it cost all I have, I passionately pursue understanding.

You Will Suffer Both The Consequences And The Rewards Of Those Who Are Closest To You

“He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.”
Proverbs 13:20 (NKJV)

JULY 4 - If you want to have a successful and purposeful life, you must relentlessly fight the constant pressure of negative people coming into your life, struggling as formidably as you would a thief leaping
past the threshold of your back door. You must Stop Them — IMMEDIATELY! The only way one can maintain a stable life is through pursuit and maintenance of right relationships. You cannot afford to get involved with the wrong types of people. As we see in the above passage, Solomon warned, “He who walks with wise
men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.”

That word “destroyed” does not necessarily mean dead or absent from life. It describes the death of one’s purpose. The moment you or I move toward the direction of a wrong relationship is the moment our purpose begins to fade away like the moon at dawn.

  • God knew Herod was a danger to His Son.
  • God realized Herod was hazardous to His plan.
  • God, therefore, refused to allow even the Wise Men to continue any further companionship with the treacherous king.

And that is why it is vital to qualify every person who comes into your life. Find those who are wise. Link yourself to their life. Serve them. Help them fulfill their dreams, and watch in amazement as God fulfills yours.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I walk with wise men and I am wise, for I know the companion of fools will be destroyed.

Never Embrace Anyone Who Is Not Able To Give You A Promotion

“Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.”
Colossians 3:22 (NKJV)

MAY 28 - What is God’s will for us in the workplace? Have you yet realized that He wants you to clearly understand the way His Kingdom works within a structure of authority? After that, God wants you to eagerly pursue pleasing the authority over you in the workplace. He wants a smile to come to that person’s face every time he or she thinks of you.

At the time of Jesus’ birth, Caesar Augustus was in power. The term “Augustus” means revered, a title that the Romans previously used only for their gods. Without a doubt, all the citizens of the empire deeply respected their ruler, soldiers, masters, and superiors.

Are you criticized when you try to please your superiors? Yes, you often are. However, you are only criticized by the people who have stopped their forward progress. In time, you will grow out of those critical relationships if you are willing to endure it. You can look forward to being celebrated in time to come by those who are interested in your promotion.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I look to please those who can bring Your promotion into my life. I thank You that You make me sensitive to their needs, wants, and desires.

The Promises Of God Come Alive The Moment You Pursue Wisdom And Understanding

“God said, because you have asked this and have not asked for long life or for riches, nor for the lives of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to recognize what is just and right…behold, I have done as you asked, I have given you a wise mind…I have also given you what  you have not asked, both riches and honor.”
1 Kings 3:11-13 (The Living)

APRIL 28 - In most cases, a computer in the hands of a two-year-old child is nothing but a mere plaything, an intriguing mass of lettered buttons, and an attractive screen of colorful images. Furthermore, that same
computer lays idle at the hands of the great-grandmother who loves gardening, baking, and sewing, seeing little rationale for even learning how to turn on the machine. Many times in life we may have the right tool in our hand, but if we don’t know how to efficiently use it, that tool becomes utterly and hopelessly useless.

After covert military strategy was generously demonstrated by Captain Wingate (specifically revealing how to effectively use their weapons against the enemy), Moshe Dayan and Haganah wisely learned the power they possessed. Accordingly the Word of God is powerless to us if we do not fully understand why God sent it and the power it possesses to accomplish great things in our lives.

If we do not acknowledge that the Word of God is powerful and that it is the discerner of the human heart, then it is totally unable to help us. Understanding unlocks the power of the Word of God to flow into the life of the believer, just as the English captain unlocked strategic military power to surge into the life of Moshe Dayan. The more fully we give ourselves to the Word of God, the more fully understanding comes into our life.

Father, I thank You that the wealth of Your wisdom causes me to prosper in all areas of life.

Excellence Is The Key That Swings Open The Door of Favor

“Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings;
he will not stand before unknown men.”

Proverbs 22:29 (NKJV)

APRIL 21 - Rerouting our exploration of Palestine for a time, we leave the ancient Hebrew culture to enter the dramatic door of modern-day Israel. A notable dignitary in recent Middle-East history, Moshe Dayan (the colorful figure often remembered for his conspicuous black eye patch) was born in 1915 in the first kibbutz (or Jewish cooperative farm) located just south of the Sea of Galilee. An instructor in the underground Jewish militia, Dayan led commando raids against the Vichy French in Syria, assisting in Israel’s 1948 War of Independence. And in 1953, due to his excellence on the battlefield, the door of favor opened to Mr. Dayan when he was promoted to Major General and Chief of Staff.

Promotion is something we all desire. But why are very few ever elevated to a higher level in life? Why do so many individuals remain the exact same as the day we first meet them? Promotion does not come just because we desire it—it resolutely requires us to soar above and beyond that which is asked of us. Whether in marriage, at work, or serving in God’s church, walking in excellence is the key to favor and promotion.

The Bible tells us, “Jesus grew in wisdom and favor with both God and man.” As we grow in favor with both God and man, it causes us to rise to the level of promotion God has for us. Maintaining a great attitude
and respecting and honoring those to whom we are assigned also are vital to attract the favor of God and man. By doing whatever is required of us, we can become the tool used to solve any problem in life.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I excel in what You called me to do; I will stand before kings. I do all things in excellence and continue to grow in wisdom and favor.

Wisdom Is Granted Only To Those Who Are Willing To Search For Her

“Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding.”
Proverbs 3:13 (NKJV)

APRIL 14 - Like parents who wisely set aside a reserve for college tuition, God lovingly stores up unsurpassed wisdom for His children. Although God’s wisdom dwells within the pages of His Word, not everyone can simply read the Bible and receive the wisdom of God. No, wisdom is something for which we must search, and it doesn’t come easily, so many never find it.

There is a razor-sharp difference between simply knowing the Scriptures, and truly possessing the wisdom of God. Wisdom is the ability to accurately apply the Word to any given situation. Many know the Scriptures on health and financial prosperity, but very few actually experience the fruit of them. Why is that? Because wisdom is lacking within the heart of the believer.

There is no problem other than a wisdom problem. And wisdom was the principal thing for the Jews, as the Hebrew culture viewed education as a lifelong process; therefore, they treasured teachers since the days of antiquity.

Only as we continue to press into the Word of God will we go beyond the realm of knowledge and venture into the realm of wisdom. However, we must consider the wisdom of God as more precious than silver and gold. The more value we place upon wisdom, the more Heaven leads us by it.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I possess Your wisdom. I do not forsake her, but love her and embrace wisdom as the most precious asset I have.

Words Are The Catalyst That Ignite The Fires Of Tomorrow

“Likewise, look at the ships: though they are so great and are driven by
rough winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever
the impulse of the helmsman determines.”

James 3:4 (AMP)

JANUARY 23 - In the 1850’s, no European had ever set foot in the heart of Africa. Though mauled by a lion, separated from his family, and deserted by native helpers, Dr. David Livingstone faithfully spoke these words: “I shall open up a path into the interior or perish.” As a result of his resolute words and corresponding actions, Africa was fully opened to the gospel of Christ.

These Scriptures in James clearly reveal the invincible power of the tongue. Although the tongue may appear minuscule, it ultimately controls the actions of the entire body. James compares the tongue to a horse’s bit (James 3:3); the one who controls that small bit has complete jurisdiction over the whole horse. James also uses a ship’s rudder as an example; a rudder is usually very small in comparison to the ship, but when the captain turns that rudder, the huge ship turns along with it.

Just as the rudder controls the destination of a ship, the tongue is the rudder of our lives. No matter how big life’s problems appear, we must use our mouths to guide and steer us in the direction God desires. It takes time to direct a huge ship; it also takes time for our transformation. Circumstances don’t change instantaneously. By continuing to confess His Word and keep the rudder turned, in due time our lives line up with what we say. As did the great Dr. Livingstone, let’s confess what we want to happen in the future  instead of moaning about what we see today.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I speak Your Word and I believe in my heart without
doubting. I know the things I speak and believe will come to pass in my life.

The Value I Place Upon Wisdom Will Determine The Life It Will Produce In Me

“Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do!
And whatever else you do, get good judgment. If you prize wisdom,
she will exalt you. Embrace her and she will honor you.”

Proverbs 4:7-9 (NLT)

JANUARY 3 - When one of the wisest queens who ever lived was asked by a visiting prince, “What is the secret to your country’s success?” Queen Victoria soberly handed the African leader a large Bible. Placing the volume in his hands, she declared, “Here is the secret of England’s greatness.”

As we see in Proverbs 4:7-8, wisdom is the most important thing we can ever hope to obtain. When we place a value upon something, it is able to offer us amazing results. We all have moments when we wish we knew the right answer or were able to discern exactly what to do in a certain situation.

By obtaining wisdom and placing value upon her (just as we might our most costly gem), we experience how she can substantially transform our lives.

To love something is to find it desirable, but to value something is to find it essential. Wisdom is essential to the outcome of our lives. Is wisdom only wanted by us, or do we truly place value upon it?

Our level of pursuit proves the answer to that question. Consider the following. How much time do you spend in God’s Word? How much of an effort do you make to heed the wisdom of Godly men? What does your pursuit of Him look like?

The degree of honesty to which you answer these questions is the degree you will begin to see the value you place upon wisdom. England’s Queen Victoria knew that getting wisdom through God’s Word was the principal thing. Start today thinking of ways in which you can do the same.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I pursue your Word with all my heart.
I am filled with your wisdom, which is the principle thing;
therefore, I gain wisdom and understanding.
