Seedtime Is The Only Requirement That Heaven Publishes For An Abundant Harvest

“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.”
Genesis 8:22 (NKJV)

JULY 31 - “Are we there yet?” For anyone who has ever been around children, that irksome refrain is as familiar as gum on the bottom of their shoes. But even as adults we can generally agree that waiting on God is not easy. I have come to understand in my own life that waiting gives me an opportunity to prove my reliance on God. It is not our ability to wait, but our attitude during the waiting process that catches the
attention of God.

God requires us to sow a seed wrapped in our faith, and to hold fast to our confession for He who promised is faithful. Always remember that the sequence of sowing is: 1) Seed 2) TIME 3) Harvest.

God’s timing is always perfect for the harvest of our seed. He is never too late; He is never too early. Let us not worry about what God is going to do — He will always do His part. What we must take care of is our part. Always remember that your seed, when planted in the right soil, always produces a harvest.

Father, I thank You that You cause my seed to harvest in due time. I understand that a man who sows sparingly harvests sparingly, but a man who sows generously harvests generously. I choose to sow knowing that whatever I sow is what I reap. Lord, I thank You that Your timing is perfect.

Deception Becomes Evient The Moment That Truth Enters The Room

“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:31-32 (NLT)

JULY 30 - As a carpenter, Jesus knew a great deal about the art of measuring, various kinds of wood, the construction of houses, and the shape of rooms. Additionally, there were yokes to make for the oxen and tools for the farmers. And as an attentive servant of the people of Nazareth, spending hours creating objects for their daily use, Jesus knew the difference between deception and truth. In fact, Jesus has this to say
concerning Satan, “He is a liar and the father of all lies.” Although Satan cannot destroy us, ignorance can. God gave us His Word so we would walk above any deception Satan brings our way. The enemy attempts to twist and pervert the truth of God’s Word. As the father of lies, he convinces many that God is the one who is the liar.

We must never take ignorance lightly. Contrary to popular belief, what we don’t know will eventually hurt us. God’s Word states, “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” Not knowing what the Word of God says concerning an issue opens the door to deception.

Remember, deception believes something to be true when it is not. Some of the most confident men and women are misled without even realizing it. The Scriptures are given to us so we may know the thoughts of God in every area of our lives. As we press into the truth of God’s Word, we have the ability to clearly identify and ruthlessly expose the deception of the enemy.

God’s Word is truth. We must keep it before our eyes and meditate upon it day and night. As we continue in the Word, deception flees because the darkness of deception cannot withstand the light of truth.

Father, I thank You that I passionately pursue the truth of Your Word. I am truly Your disciple because I obey Your teachings.

Everything In Your Life Will Remain A Seed Until You Choose To Sow It

“I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.”
John 12:24 (NIV)

JULY 29 - In recent years, archaeologists have discovered seeds that are thousands of years old. To the  surprise of many, when these seeds were planted, they began to grow. We can be ensured, therefore, that our seed is entirely dormant until we place it in the proper soil. While the seeds were in storage, they were only seeds. Yet, once they were planted, the seeds “died,” but a new plant grew in its place.

Early in His ministry, Jesus informed us that this would happen. Yet, the seeds of our lives remain just that, mere seeds, until we strategically plant them in fertile soil. What seeds are you holding in your hand? What have you been unwilling to release?

Take a look around your life. Everything you have is a potential seed, but the only way to receive a harvest is to sow. Be aware, though, that the Scriptures speak of seed, time, and harvest.

Your harvest takes time, and you must be prepared to wait. Rest assured that, just as crops often spring up without the farmer’s knowledge or assistance, your seed also grows up and brings you a harvest at the appointed time.

Father, I thank You that You give seed to the sower and that You cause my harvest to come so I can sow again.

Consistent Sowing Is The Precursor For Consistent Reaping

“Don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give up,
for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time.”

Galatians 6:9 (NLT)

FEBRUARY 23 - Thirty-one wonderful years of being a Christian! And what is the greatest negligence I have witnessed in the body of Christ? Consistency. So very few are prepared to consistently do something until they attain the desired harvest they are promised. After the early October rains, the Palestinian farmer rose at dawn to sow seeds, either by hand or from a box attached to his plow. Farm owners, slaves, young men and women, children, just about everyone labored from sunrise to sunset, consistently planting seeds in the ground. Even as darkness enveloped the land, many farmers stayed in the fields, relentlessly protecting their crops. It is quite intriguing that God promised all of us the same blessings, but why do some walk in more blessing
than others?

I don’t ever want to come to a point in my life and discover I could have had something if I would have only stuck with it. In America, it is easy to move from one way of doing things to another. We have a very difficult time being patient because we begin to believe the rest of the world is getting what belongs to us. We then undertake and institute the world’s philosophy instead of God’s, mistakenly looking to the world to show us how to get what we desire.

The Bible says, “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich and He adds no sorrow to it.” God’s way may seem to take a little longer than we would like, but if we continue to consistently do what He commands, we will see our desired harvest. The key is unfailing consistency!

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I do not give up and grow weary in doing good. I am unfailing in my life, and I undertake tasks according to Your standards and not the world’s.

To Hear The Word And Forget To Act Is To Plow The Field And Forget To Plant

“But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.”

James 1:22 (NKJV)

JANUARY 13 - “Didn’t he just preach the same thing last week?” the perfectly manicured wife whispered agitatedly into her husband’s right ear. Having listened half-heartedly, the man shifted in his seat, tipping his head forward, fervently trying to recall. In a few seconds, his wife leaned over again, “Did that ignorant woman at the end of our row step on your foot like she did mine, fumbling around trying to find a seat?”

Slowly nodding, the smiling husband finally remembered—it was as clear as a church bell. “Hey, I remember what he talked about last week—love. Last week, like today, he preached about loving one another.” Squirming around uneasily the wife bristled, Why did I even ask? Week after week we continually hear the Word of God, but do you realize we are to be doers of the Word, and not hearers only? I find it interesting how two people can hear the same message, but one benefits and the other does not. The prophet Isaiah tells us, “The Word of God does not return void.” This means that there is no inherent defect in the seed of the Word of God. Nevertheless, Jesus tells us in Mark 4:17-19 why the Word of God can be void in a person’s life—as a result of the condition of the soil.

In Hebrews 4 we see that the Word does not profit us because we do not mix what we hear with faith and action. God’s Word only transforms us in accordance with our commitment to hear and do what He speaks.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I am a doer of Your Word and not a hearer only. I look into the perfect law of liberty and continue in it, and I am blessed in my deeds.
