The Key To Life Rests In The Delicate Arms Of Balance

“In all matters requiring wisdom and balanced judgment, the king found the advice of these young men to be ten times better than that of all the magicians and enchanters in his entire kingdom.”
Daniel 1:20 (NLT)

JULY 2 - What does it mean to have balanced judgment? Picture a large, impressive diamond. If you look at it from a distance, it appears rather flat. But once you clutch the diamond inside your hand, you can examine at it from all angles and realize how truly intricate it is.

Balanced judgment is the ability to consider all the facets of an issue and then be able to synthesize one complete, diamond-like understanding. That understanding encompasses everything about the issue. It allows a person to know which facet is most important at the moment in order to skillfully answer the questions at hand.

Our ability to balance our lives comes from having a complete, multifaceted view of everything life entails. If we get trapped in the world of business, we forget the facet of family. If family time becomes
overemphasized, we begin to overlook the facet of service to God and humanity. Jesus’ life was fully balanced right from the start. Each phase of His life was firmly planned; each circumstance sensibly cultivated. He was born in Bethlehem for a purpose, and fled to the foreign soil of Egypt for another.

And as we look steadily into the Word of God and do what it says, all the facets of life become much clearer—we are able to see how big, or how small, each one is to become according to God’s standards, and
then we truly are able to have balance in our lives.

You Are God’s Instrument Created To Heal His People

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for He has appointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the downtrodden will be freed from their oppressors.”
Luke 4:18 (NLT)

JUNE 19 - Having followed the most unusual star the world had ever beheld, upon finding the Christ Child, the Magi, the Wise Men of the East, humbly knelt, placing the gifts of myrrh, frankincense, and gold at Jesus’ feet. Could they feel even then the healing strength that already characterized the young babe?

Today, God calls us to continue and complete the work of Jesus Christ and to bring His will to the nations. We are ambassadors of God’s Kingdom, commissioned on earth to rescue humanity. We are not here simply to idly relax and enjoy vacations.

God shed His love abroad in our hearts by His Holy Spirit, and expects us to love others as He loves us. We must never forget what God said in His Word, “Love never fails.” Remember,

• People are hurting.
• People are crying out for someone to come and help them.
• People want to be free, but they don’t know where to turn.

We must help those who are wounded and hurt. Jesus gave us the necessary tools to bring liberty to those in bondage: authority, instruction, love, anointing, and His Holy Spirit. It is time we take our place as instruments of God and begin to allow Him to love and heal His people through us. If God is going to do anything in the lives of others, He is going to use those of us who are ready and willing.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You for giving me the power to determine my attitude. I choose to have the same attitude as Christ Jesus, knowing that He trusted You even through death on a cross.

Honor Is The Doorway Through Which All Prosperity Walks

“‘Honor your father and mother.’ This is the first of the Ten Commandments that ends with a promise. And this is the promise: if you honor your father and mother, ‘you will live a long life, full of blessing.’”
Ephesians 6:2-3 (NLT)

MAY 3 - When I speak of prosperity, I do not only confine it to money. Money, you see, has only a small role to play on the diverse stage of prosperity. What I refer to is a full and abundant life. God has told humanity for more than four thousand years to honor their parents. And God promises a long, full life of blessings to those who do.

What is honor? And how do we honor? Honor is a term used to describe the act of making another feel valued. It also can be seen as giving another respect. We honor through our actions and our attitudes. Dishonor stems from one’s heart, and eventually reveals itself in one’s actions. Remember, man looks at the outward actions, but God looks on our hearts. Therefore, consider these two important questions: Do we honor with our hearts, or just our words? Do we value the gifts others give to us?

There are many people who do not have Godly parents. Nevertheless, the Scriptures do not exempt such people from honoring their parents. You can honor those who don’t know the Lord just as you can those who do. Unsaved parents can be won to the Lord through honor. We owe it to them; maybe not for what they did or who they are, but because of what God did. We must begin today to honor our parents. Take some time to think about what you can do to show honor towards them. I guarantee it will make a huge difference
in their lives, and you will be blessed for doing so.

Daily Confession

I honor my father and my mother and I will have a long full life of blessings. I understand that I cannot live a full and abundant life apart from honoring them.

Peace Is Not The Absense Of Turmoil; It Is Knowing The Presence Of God

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 (NKJV)

MARCH 13 - Not only was there a bitter herb set upon the Passover table, but there was also a sweet, delicate herb. Parsley is that customary herb, used to remind Jews of the sweet, peaceful incidents that no doubt occurred during their long journey to the land God prepared for them. But God cares far more about your faith than He does about your comfort. We read in 1 Peter 1:7 that trials are only tests of our faith, to show that it is strong and pure.

In Job 23:8-9, Job records his search for God, “I go east, but He is not there. I go west, but I cannot find Him. I do not see Him in the north, for He is hidden. I turn to the south, but I cannot find Him.” It could have appeared to Job that God had entirely abandoned him. All of his efforts to find God’s presence in his turmoil led to nothing until we come to verse 10, which says, “But He knows…” Job acknowledges that God knows his state, and if God knows, then He must be near!

He continues, “But He knows where I am going, and when He has tested me like gold in a fire, He will pronounce me innocent.” Do those sound like the words of an anxious, fretful man? No! His words come from a heart that is assured of God’s faithfulness even in his trouble, and because of that, great peace, as celebrated with the sweet herb, guards his heart and fixates his mind.

Let me ask you, has God ever failed you before? Even once? Then why would He fail you now? Remember His faithfulness in times past, and rest in the peace He so generously provides.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I walk in Your righteousness, and that You never allow me to be moved, made to fall, slip, or fail.
