It Is not What Has Been Done To You That Decides Your Fate In Life But How You Respond That Determines Your Destiny

“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.”
1 Samuel 30:6 (KJV)

JUNE 18 - “I can’t believe divorce happened in my family,” the devout woman stated to her sister-in-law on the telephone one afternoon. “Who would have ever thought it?” But indeed, after several years of marriage and three handsome sons, for some reason, the husband and wife grew distant. Refusing to take sides or gossip about either family member, the sister-in-law wisely decided to step back and pray.

Whenever life doesn’t go the way you planned, step back and ask yourself: How can I respond to the situation? Remember, you are in charge of your attitude, so you cannot blame your response on anyone or anything but yourself. Understanding why you feel the way you do relieves a lot of your frustration.

Attitude is not based on circumstances or people. It’s all about how we choose to respond! A wife cannot blame her troublesome depression on her husband. An employee can’t blame his shoddy attitude on the boss. There’s always something positive to focus on. Discover it, and you are on your way to fulfilling your destiny!

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You for giving me the power to determine my attitude. I choose to have the same attitude as Christ Jesus, knowing that He trusted You even through death on a cross.

• Never judge your life by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you sow.
• Prosperity always avoids those who embrace wrong priorities.
• Poverty is not the lack of money, but rather, the proof of misguided money.
• A life without harvest is proof you invested in the wrong people.
• And much, much more!

The Prize Of Character Is Always Better Than The Price Of Adversity

“These trials are only to test your faith, to show that it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—and your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold. So if your faith remains strong after being tried by fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.”

1 Peter 1:7 (NLT)

APRIL 8 - After hearing of the massacres of two Central African missionaries, British-born gentleman, James Hannington fought the criticism and objection of his peers, forsaking a comfortable lifestyle in preparation to take their place. Before being martyred in 1885, Mr. Hannington first lifted his hand to his captors, requesting that the Ugandan king be told that he had purchased the road to their country with his death—a perilous path, yet one highly worthwhile. I admit, in this world, you could suffer for choosing Godly character. The Scriptures warn us that this might happen as we follow Christ. One thing is very sure,  however; when this life is over and we step into eternity, all injustice will cease. Whatever price you pay to have Godly character (even if with your life) will pale in comparison to the rewards that await you. You will have difficulty here on earth, but if you choose God’s righteousness, you’ll never regret the adversity it may include.

Have you yet realized that God is very interested in rewarding you? Yes, He is gracious and loving beyond comprehension, but we must step up to the plate of service in order to receive what is ours. God’s goodness
can only be released through our commitment to walk in His ways, as He expertly uses our times of dversity to refine us—making us even stronger than we are already are. We may never suffer martyrdom as did
James Hannington, but we do have a mandate to help people in any way that God directs. And the only way we’ll accomplish our task and be rewarded for it is if we choose the prize of character, despite the price
of adversity.

Spiritual Checkup Pack - CD & Book

What is the ultimate prize that this world has to offer? The Nobel Peace Prize? An Oscar? A Super Bowl ring? A lucrative recording contract?

Certainly you can find all types of contests in which to compete and a host of valuable prizes to covet in today’s society. Are you equipped to win the prize and obtain the goal? In this package, Dr. Robb Thompson explains to you how to win the ultimate prize of life – the heart of your Heavenly Father.

Using illustrations from the lives of Biblical men and women, Dr. Thompson vividly portrays what it means to be a person after God’s own heart and how to do the necessary examining of your own heart in the process. He tackles the all-important topics of submission and covenant loyalty – scriptural concepts that are frequently shunned and swept under the collective rug in Christendom today.

As Dr. Thompson so succinctly asks, “What else do you have in life, if you don’t have the heart of the Father?” That’s a question only you can answer for yourself. Pursue the prize of your Father’s heart, and watch everything else in your life fall into place (Matthew 6:33).

The Road Of Average Is Paved By Good Decisions; The Road Of Greatness Is Paved With Actions

“And remember, it is a message to obey, not just to listen to.
If you don’t obey, you are only fooling yourself.”

James 1:22 (NLT)

JANUARY 19 - While the buttons on her cell phone were nearly worn off, the college girl’s new Bible (received at last year’s birthday party) lay beautifully untouched. She intended to read it every morning, just as she was encouraged by her church, but with those calls—so many friends from the neighborhood and school—there just was never enough time. Intentions never move anyone anywhere. I wonder just how many people intend to be wealthy, healthy, fulfilled, and happy—the majority I would imagine. Over the years, I have discovered only a few who turn their intention into action. Their reward is achievement.

Achievers don’t talk about what they are going to do, because they are too busy doing it. If you find yourself living by intention, I encourage you to take immediate action:

  • What have you been putting off?
  • Is it cleaning the house, spending time with your spouse, finishing a project?
  • And what is one thing you can do immediately to move you closer toward your intended destination?

Whatever it is, do it without delay after reading and meditating upon this success key. Many people will read this with the intention of taking action but never will. I don’t believe that about you. I believe you will make the decision to put your life on the right course and take immediate action. Don’t wait another minute. Take action, and your life will never be the same again!

Father, I thank You that I am a doer of Your Word, not just a hearer.
