Doubt Is The Vehicle That Leads You down The Road Of Poverty

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord.”
James 1:5-7 (NKJV)

JUNE 3 - What caused much of Israel to reject Jesus Christ, the Messiah? What forced the Romans to eventually crucify an innocent man? And what is the wave that tosses us to and fro?

DOUBT! Doubt puts a chokehold on any blessings God wants to bring to our lives. The moment we look upon the circumstances of our lives, we dilute the faith that we possess. When Peter focused on the fierceness of the waves and the howling of the wind, he began to sink–and so do we if we allow doubt to crowd our faith in whatsoever
God said.

If we focus on the circumstances of life rather than keep our attention on God’s Word, faith remains dormant. Doubt is given power the moment we choose to take our eyes off the truth of what God said. But faith comes alive the moment we choose to believe the promises of God, regardless of what we go through. Doubt remains powerless as we commit to live by faith and not by sight, for we are recreated in Christ to dwell there.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I bury doubt by believing Your Word. I ask You in faith for what I need, not doubting, and I expect to receive what I ask of You.

Problem Solving - CD

You might ask, “How does solving others’ problems help me to achieve the life I desire?” The answer is found in one of the powerful principles Dr. Robb Thompson shares in this series. Based on Ephesians 6:8, it states: “Whatever you make happen for others, God will make happen for you.”

Your life will begin to quickly advance as you learn how to become an answer, and not a question, to those to whom you have been assigned. Promotion and favor will chase you down as you implement Dr. Thompson’s practical yet powerful principles. Here are just a few:

• Your value to your employer is in direct proportion to the problems you are willing to solve for him.
• You will only be remembered for the problems you solve or the problems you create.
• When you solve a greater problem, you will receive a greater reward.
• Don’t try to compete with people – compete against mediocrity.

Whether you need to see advancement in your career, business, relationships, or personal effectiveness, don’t miss out on this opportunity to take your life to the next level. The only one who can stop your promotion is you!

Doubt Is The Enemy Assigned To Throw Off God’s Timing

“That you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”
Hebrews 6:12 (NAS)

MAY 20 - A boasting serpent with long, twisting fangs; a whimsical creature of bright, dazzling colors; or a lying, slimy snake who bends about branches as easily as the wind; however he materializes inside your mind, our foe is adorned in a most deceitful costume called DOUBT. From the beginning of time, Satan has attempted to convince us that God is not going to come through for us. Remember, God told us what was going to happen, He just never told us when.

God’s timing is the right time no matter when it is. We live in a world that is governed beneath the economy of evil, but God gave us the power and authority to live above the world’s system. He gave us His Word so we can walk by faith, and not by sight. If Satan can keep us walking by what we see, he will destroy us. But, if we stay in the realm of faith, we can thwart all of his diabolical strategies.

The Scriptures tell us in Matthew 11:12, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force.” That is exactly what we must do. The reason we are called to seize God’s Kingdom by force is because Satan attempts to snatch it right from our fingers this very moment.

The enemy tries to stop anyone from experiencing the promises of God. He puts up roadblocks, sends every demon, and ruthlessly lies to you every day about how God is not going to keep His Word. We must stand strong (as stalwartly as Jesus did) and continue to press, knowing that God is faithful to His Word. Through faith and patience, we will receive what is promised.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I am full of faith and patience. I receive what is promised, for You are not slack concerning Your promise.

Faith Is The Magnifying Glass Through Which You View God’s Word

“So we don’t look at the troubles we can see right now; rather, we look forward to what we have not yet seen. For the troubles we see will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever.”

2 Corinthians 4:18 (NLT)

MAY 12 - The sky was a blackish, yellowish, grayish green that meant only one thing—TORNADO. Settled amidst the beauty of lush farmland, a father and his family loved living in the country—fresh, invigorating air, the relaxing ripples of the backyard pond, not a hint of crime, vast, animal-accommodating spaces, sheer, open land. Even though they lived in breathtaking surroundings all year long, whenever a storm threatened their peaceful existence, all they could picture were fierce, raging winds whirling into their two-story frame house like a freight train gone mad.

So what is magnified in your life – your seemingly insurmountable circumstance, or the matchless truth and everlasting power of God’s Word? God’s Word was true yesterday, and it still holds true today. Regardless of the struggles we face, God’s Word does not change. I thank God that He does not lie; I know I can stand on His Word and watch Him set me free. He is faithful, and He desires to show Himself strong on our behalf.

There are two interesting aspects many people seem to ignore when believing God’s Word during a time of contrary circumstances: 1) He never told us when, He just told us what He would do. 2) God is not a man that He should lie—what He said, He will do! The question is:

Are you going to view His Word through the joyous eyes of the magnifying glass called faith, or the flawed blindfold called sight? We must choose today how we perceive life. Our perception ultimately determines our destination.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that You don’t lie. What You said, You will do. I refuse to look at the troubles I can see. I look at what I cannot see through the eyes of faith.

All For Hymn: Piano Sessions - CD

The old adage, “They don’t write ‘em like they used to” could certainly apply to the hymns recorded on this CD. These hymns reflect the greatness, majesty, and faithfulness of God and have stood the test of time.

These piano sessions were recorded in a time of worship. Improvisations increased while the hymnsmwere being recorded, which led to new melodic themes and different harmonic structures. Some sessions had more of a classical ‘vibe’ (Holy, Holy, Holy); while some had a gentle quality (Amazing Grace).

Song List:

1. Holy, Holy, Holy
2. The Old Rugged Cross
3. My Jesus I Love Thee
4. Sweet Hour Of Prayer
5. In The Garden
6. Great Is Thy Faithfulness
7. Be Still My Soul
8. Amazing Grace w/ Jesus Loves Me
9. Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

The Promises Of God Come Alive The Moment You Pursue Wisdom And Understanding

“God said, because you have asked this and have not asked for long life or for riches, nor for the lives of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to recognize what is just and right…behold, I have done as you asked, I have given you a wise mind…I have also given you what  you have not asked, both riches and honor.”
1 Kings 3:11-13 (The Living)

APRIL 28 - In most cases, a computer in the hands of a two-year-old child is nothing but a mere plaything, an intriguing mass of lettered buttons, and an attractive screen of colorful images. Furthermore, that same
computer lays idle at the hands of the great-grandmother who loves gardening, baking, and sewing, seeing little rationale for even learning how to turn on the machine. Many times in life we may have the right tool in our hand, but if we don’t know how to efficiently use it, that tool becomes utterly and hopelessly useless.

After covert military strategy was generously demonstrated by Captain Wingate (specifically revealing how to effectively use their weapons against the enemy), Moshe Dayan and Haganah wisely learned the power they possessed. Accordingly the Word of God is powerless to us if we do not fully understand why God sent it and the power it possesses to accomplish great things in our lives.

If we do not acknowledge that the Word of God is powerful and that it is the discerner of the human heart, then it is totally unable to help us. Understanding unlocks the power of the Word of God to flow into the life of the believer, just as the English captain unlocked strategic military power to surge into the life of Moshe Dayan. The more fully we give ourselves to the Word of God, the more fully understanding comes into our life.

Father, I thank You that the wealth of Your wisdom causes me to prosper in all areas of life.

The Seed You Cast Upon The Waves Of Eternity Will Return Upon The Shores Of This Life

“Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days.”
Ecclesiastes 11:1 (NKJV)

MARCH 30 - Faith and patience are key factors in the process of sowing seed. Anyone who has been a giver for any length of time understands there is a vital season of waiting between every seed sown and every harvest grown. Notice the scripture above states, “…it will come back to you after many days.” There is a season of time between when we sow our seed, and when we reap a harvest.

One’s unwillingness to wait patiently has aborted the harvest of countless seeds. You must be willing to trust God through the seasons of waiting. Israel’s shepherds had a choice—they could either sow superior
seeds with their neighbors by being careful where their flocks grazed, or they could sow unfavorable seeds by allowing their animals to roam freely upon other people’s properties, instead of waiting for suitable lands. Their peers viewed those who were impatient as dishonest.

Impatience weakens our faith to the point where we begin to entertain thoughts that sowing doesn’t work. We must keep up our faith, remain patient, and decisively obey the laws of God concerning sowing and reaping…then our harvest is assured. Friends, never grow weary, for in due time, you shall receive your overflowing harvest.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I am a giver. I know that with the measure I give, my harvest will be given back to me; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and overflowing shall men give unto my bosom.

We Are Called To Finish The Race, Not Just Keep The Faith

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
2 Timothy 4:7 (NKJV)

MARCH 5 - Bread is so recognizable that Jesus even equated Himself to it—“the Bread of Life.” But did you know that one of the oldest breads in the world is the “Desert Flat Bread,” initially prepared by Moses and his family in the wilderness? Utilizing only four main ingredients, flat bread could be made in a hurry, completed before any number of situations might occur. Our lives are full of starters, but how many actually finish? Everyone has their hair combed, their muscles flexed, and their clothes pressed at the start of a race, but it is how a person finishes the race that really matters. Diplomas are not handed out on registration day; they are handed out on the day of graduation.

All of us start this spiritual race with the intention of finishing, but few actually walk away from the race with a trophy. The apostle Paul victoriously made it to the end of the race God set before him. It did not matter that he got a late start in the race; all that mattered was that he finished it.

We must determine from the very outset that we are going to finish our course better and stronger than when we began. Although we may encounter trials and difficulties, we can overcome them by using them
as steppingstones to completion in no time. At the finish line of this race, the King Himself will bestow upon us the victor’s crown of life; at that moment, we’ll know that all of our striving was worthwhile. May we each finish stronger than we began.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I fight the good fight. I keep my faith, and I will finish the race You set before me.

What You Learn On Sunday Will Be Stopped By Your Worry On Monday

“The thorny ground represents those who hear and accept the good news,
but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares of this life
and the lure of wealth, so no crop is produced.”

Matthew 13:22 (NLT)

FEBRUARY 5 - “Gas prices skyrocket! Shocking new terrorist plots! Illegal drugs cause an upsurge in crime! Supermarket produce tainted with deadly bacteria!” Today’s global headlines could make even the tiniest sparrows stop flying and start worrying. But the Bible tells us that worry chokes the Word of God, congesting our lives like strangling traffic jams, making it of no effect. Can you imagine that? Worry actually stops God’s Word from working inside your life. We must understand that worry is not something with which to toy or take lightly.

Our every worry is the proof that God-honoring faith is sorely absent! You cannot worry and walk in faith at the same time. The moment faith boldly enters the room is the moment worry must fearfully exit. Whenever we worry, we factually document that we don’t truly believe what God said. Remember — God’s greatest pleasure is to be believed, and His greatest disappointment is to be doubted. So what does our worry say about our faith in God?

Although we may get excited about the principles taught to us on Sunday, we must refuse worry on Monday to see God’s Word manifest in our lives. Never forget: when worry fretfully and nervously knocks at your door, you must allow the Word of God to valiantly answer! Then, worry will flee in stark terror like an enemy exposed.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I walk by faith and not by sight. I refuse to look at my circumstances knowing that whatever I focus on will multiply. I will have Jesus answer the door when worry comes knocking. I stand on Your Word and I refuse to allow worry to enter my life.
