Promotion Is The Avenue By Which Favor Expresses Itself

“Then pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘See, I have set you over all the land Egypt.’”
Genesis 41:41 (AMP)

JULY 10 - “Please, take this as a seed for your business,” the honey-haired woman wrote on the note to her brother, tucking the antique necklace securely inside the envelope, praying for favor, a harvest, and most of
all, her younger brother. Seven Years Later: “There’s more jewelry here than most antique stores have,” the woman told her daughters, opening box after box, all colors, shapes, sizes, and styles. “Where did all
this jewelry come from?” one of the woman’s daughters questioned, intrigued by the sheer massiveness of it all. “From your uncle, my brother,” the woman pondered, finally remembering that day long ago when love, and God, told her to send one necklace to her brother, to help him succeed.

Favor is an intriguing aspect of life. It is the desire within an individual to help another succeed. Over the years of ministry, I noticed that promotion and favor go hand in hand. Coming from one who has employees, I can say that although one may get the job done, it does not guarantee them a promotion.

The missing ingredient is favor from both man and God. In the Gospel of Luke, we learn that Jesus grew in favor with both God and man. You can actually increase favor on your life. You can grow the desire in another to help you succeed. How do we increase favor on our life? The favor of God rests upon your life if you look to please God through submitting and bringing pleasure to your boss, spouse, pastor, or any authority God places in your life.

Once the favor comes, promotion is soon to follow. May the world one day hear of the promotion God brings into your life.

Father, I thank You that I am obedient to my leaders and I submit to them, continually recognizing their authority over me.

Excellence Is The Key That Swings Open The Door of Favor

“Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings;
he will not stand before unknown men.”

Proverbs 22:29 (NKJV)

APRIL 21 - Rerouting our exploration of Palestine for a time, we leave the ancient Hebrew culture to enter the dramatic door of modern-day Israel. A notable dignitary in recent Middle-East history, Moshe Dayan (the colorful figure often remembered for his conspicuous black eye patch) was born in 1915 in the first kibbutz (or Jewish cooperative farm) located just south of the Sea of Galilee. An instructor in the underground Jewish militia, Dayan led commando raids against the Vichy French in Syria, assisting in Israel’s 1948 War of Independence. And in 1953, due to his excellence on the battlefield, the door of favor opened to Mr. Dayan when he was promoted to Major General and Chief of Staff.

Promotion is something we all desire. But why are very few ever elevated to a higher level in life? Why do so many individuals remain the exact same as the day we first meet them? Promotion does not come just because we desire it—it resolutely requires us to soar above and beyond that which is asked of us. Whether in marriage, at work, or serving in God’s church, walking in excellence is the key to favor and promotion.

The Bible tells us, “Jesus grew in wisdom and favor with both God and man.” As we grow in favor with both God and man, it causes us to rise to the level of promotion God has for us. Maintaining a great attitude
and respecting and honoring those to whom we are assigned also are vital to attract the favor of God and man. By doing whatever is required of us, we can become the tool used to solve any problem in life.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I excel in what You called me to do; I will stand before kings. I do all things in excellence and continue to grow in wisdom and favor.

The Destiny Of One’s Life Is Shaped At The Moment Of Decision

“…‘Do you also want to go away?’ But Simon Peter answered Him,
‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’”

John 6:67-69 (NKJV)

JANUARY 12 - If God gave us the inherent freedom to choose our destiny, then howcan other people co-workers, family members, neighbors, or just plain friends—determine whether or not we succeed in life? The truth is, they can’t. The outcome of our lives is based solely on the decisions we make. We are actually landlords of the apartment building that gives shelter to our own consequences. Therefore, we cannot blame the unhappiness of our present condition on the actions of others.

As diligent landlords, we must realize that the rewards we enjoy in life depend entirely on us. No longer must we think from the perspective of whether or not a decision is right or wrong. Instead, we must thoroughly contemplate future ramifications every time a decision is made. We can ask ourselves, “What are the long-term effects going to be if I choose this?” It’s time to learn to make decisions based on long-term consequences, rather than short-term gratification. In other words, we must pay the price today, in order to
enjoy the greatest benefits tomorrow.

In the above passage, we catch a glimpse of how our destiny is shaped by “The moment of decision.” Many walked hastily away from Jesus that fateful day, never to return, while the twelve disciples made the astute, heartfelt decision to stay and serve the One who would ultimately save them. It was a moment in time that potently determined the rest of their lives. How often do we, in the course of our bustling lives, experience such life-changing moments?

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You for giving me the ability to choose my destiny.
I know You have a will for my life and I desire to fulfill it.
