The Rewards Of Life Are Delivered Only On The Doorsteps Of The Overcomers

“To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.”
Revelation 3:21 (NKJV)

DECEMBER 22 - Being a believer does not necessarily qualify us to receive the abundant life Jesus desires for us to wonderfully achieve and blissfully enjoy. Diplomas are not passed out on registration day for your freshman year in college. God calls for those who truly put their trust in Him to reign in this life. It is our God-given right and responsibility to reign over our flesh and the enemy that comes against us.

So why is it that so many Christians do not walk in a life of abundant rewards? We must not kid ourselves when answering this question. We can clearly see in scripture that rewards come only to those who overcome. Nobody gets rewarded for participation—divine rewards come only to those who win the contest.

We are in a battle and Satan is not going to surrender or lose effortlessly. He will, however, bow his knee and fall to defeat if we continue to retaliate with the spiritual weapons that we possess. As we resist his
onslaught and become people who conquer, we soon experience the abundant and rewarding life God desires for us.

Father, I thank You that Jesus came to give me abundant life. I am victorious over my flesh and the enemy that continues to pursue my life. I reign forevermore and enjoy the rewarding abundant life You desire for me.

Obedience Is The Only Evidence Necessary In The Courtroom Of Heaven To Prove Your Love For God

“He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
John 14:21 (NKJV)

DECEMBER 21 - As the worship time came to a close, her thoughts were on everything—everything but God!

“Oh, what is tomorrow going to be like at work?—hope no one calls in sick—those lazy, lying good-for-nothings. I better stop by the store after this; is there any milk left or did the boys gulp it all down? If I give that amount God told me, will I still be able to go shopping on Saturday?”

How can we say we love God, but deliberately neglect the things He instructs us to do—like love one another and completely forsake care and worry? We must understand, however, God is the One who adequately determines whether or not we truly love Him. God made it clear to us that He wants us to show His love to others, not only through the words that we speak but also through the actions we perform.

It is when we leave the futile realm of insincere words and move into the mode of obedience that Heaven and earth know we love God. Obedience was foremost in Jesus’ mind at the final Passover before His death. It was the only evidence necessary for God’s plan of redemption to continue, and Jesus Himself confirmed it saying, “So that the world may know that I love the Father, I do as He commanded.” As we begin to do what God commanded, we soon have enough evidence to bring before the courtroom of Heaven to prove we truly love God.

Father, I thank You for giving me the opportunity to prove my love to You. Not only do I declare my love with the words I speak, but I prove my love through my daily obedience.

The Power Of Gratitude Rests In The Willingness To Remain Vulnerable

“Thank (God) in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus…”
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (AMP)

DECEMBER 20 - “You didn’t have to,” the snowy-haired woman gaped at the beautifully-wrapped package, a tiny tear starting in the corner of her eye. “Grandma, it’s not that I had to, I want to. You’ve done so much for me—helping with my tuition, chipping in on the car. This gift is just a small token of my gratitude.” Bending down to hug the wheelchair bound woman, there was nothing in the world that could have stopped him from showing his thanks. And there is nothing in the entire world that can conceal the heart of a thankful individual. Gratitude is the one attribute that carries with it the ability to live open before all of Heaven and earth. It has the power to protect an individual from the temptation of pride and discouragement. Those who truly possess a thankful heart are granted access to both the power and presence of God.

In Luke 17:15, Jesus curiously questioned the lone leper who returned to offer his thanks, “Were there not nine others who were made well? Where are they?” Remember, Heaven searches for men and women who are eager to proclaim their praise for the things God does. As we cultivate a heart of gratitude and live a life of  thanksgiving, we soon experience a favorable response from Heaven.

Daily Confession

I bless the Lord at all times and thank Him for all He does in my life.
The Lord is good; I do not forget all His benefits. I have a favorable response
from Heaven because I possess a heart of thanksgiving.

The Excellent View Life Through The Eyes Of Unbroken Focus

“My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart…”
Proverbs 4:20–21 (NKJV)

DECEMBER 10 - Involved in an intense conversation with her teenage daughter about boys, sex, and God, suddenly, the doorbell rings. Now who’s that at the door? I’ve already broken my train of thought! One of our greatest enemies in life is broken focus. The Bible tells us, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” People of excellence refuse to break focus, because they realize doing so results in their demise. The mediocre always focus on what they go through…the excellent focus on what they go to.

How many times have we decided to rise earlier in the morning to have more prayer time? Then, the distractions begin. Perhaps an untidy area catches your attention and you want to straighten it; your child calls and you tend to them; and then a phone call which eats away your time. All the while, in your mind, you tell God, “I’ll be back in a minute.” One thing leads to another and before you know it, the day is half gone. This type of situation is not uncommon, and days lead to weeks, which lead to months, until one day we look back at our lives and ask, “How did I get here and how do I change my life?”

During His lifetime on earth, Jesus’ focus was constantly upon the cross, His assignment for mankind. Now, Jesus’ focus is on our future—preparing Heaven, interceding, looking straight ahead, being ready to perform the Father’s will at any given moment. And so must we continue to look straight ahead and not allow ourselves to be distracted.

Father, I thank You that I attend to Your Words, and incline my ears to Your sayings. I keep Your principles before my eyes; I keep them in the midst of my heart, for they bring life and health to all my flesh.

God Must Get Finances Through You Before He Can Get Finances To You.

“For God is the one who gives seed to the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, He will give you many opportunities to do good, and He will produce a great harvest of generosity in you.”
2 Corinthians 9:10 (NLT)

DECEMBER 9 - We must be conduits for God’s blessings. Solomon tells us, “…those who withhold what is justly due, come to want.” Everyone has within them the desire to hoard, the desire to keep, the desire to save. But God tells us that prosperity belongs to those who freely give. The world undoubtedly understands this more than the body of Christ does.

The principle of giving is taught in self-help seminars all across the nation, yet Christians still hoard. Sowing is proof that greed has been conquered. The moment we prove to God that we have conquered greed is the moment God begins to release what He intended for us to have. He is just waiting for those who will allow Him to distribute His finances freely throughout the earth. Will you be that conduit? I believe you will!

Father, I am a giver and not a taker; I give freely, yet I continue to gain. I choose to be a conduit through which You can distribute Your blessings to Your people.

God Cannot Rewrite Your Past So He Provided You A New One

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

DECEMBER 8 - An abusive father; an argumentative sibling; bad grades in school; destructive relationships; embarrassing addictions; getting fired from a job—God cannot rewrite our pasts, so He provided us a new one. Friends, it won’t do us any good to hold on to the past. I come from a past that is worthy to forget. I could sit here and think, “Boy I sure hope that someday old things pass away. I sure hope that someday all things become new for me. Oh, God, please do something for me. Please free me from my past.” But I don’t do that; I always find out what the scriptures say.

God said, “If anyone is in Christ…” I know I am in Christ. The scripture above says that if I am a believer, old things have passed away, and if something has passed away, then it is dead. Our pasts are dead. That old sinful creature that dwelled within is dead. Our old lives can only live if we resurrect them from the dead. The devil cannot resurrect the past. He can scream all day long, but that doesn’t change the fact that God says our pasts are dead.

When the old self gives us problems, attempting to direct us toward a carnal lifestyle, then that is the time to remind ourselves of what we already know—our old self was crucified with Christ. And if our old self was crucified with Him, then our old self cannot make us do anything! We must decide today that we are going to embrace the new future God provided, and then we will experience the true freedom for which we have been searching.

Father, I thank You that You do not lie. What You speak comes to pass in my life. I place an expectation upon the promises in Your Word, knowing that it is done unto me as I believe.

Your Mind Is The Canvas Upon Which Thoughts Paint The Picture Of Tomorrow

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”
Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV)

NOVEMBER 20 - What you think today becomes a reality tomorrow. You must, however, stay long enough under the Word of God for it to transform you in order to create a better tomorrow. Stooping down upon the
ground, all eyes were locked on the Teacher. What’s He doing now? Trembling in fear, the woman who had been caught with another man held her breath—would He condemn her also? But NO! Something was happening; an utter impossibility.

One by one, from the oldest to the youngest, the scribes and the Pharisees slipped away with their countenances covered, all having departed until only Jesus and the woman were alone. As He told the woman to, “Go, and sin no more,” Jesus painted a picture of tomorrow for all Israel, brushing strokes of salvation upon the canvas of their minds, potently replacing the negative thoughts of yesterday into their lives.

When you understand the truth behind the origin of negative thoughts, you have the know-how to take control over them. As you take control, you are then able to worship the Lord your God with your entire mind and be free from guilt over wrong and negative thoughts that Satan brings your way.

All of God’s power and promises are at our disposal, but only those who pay the price and saturate their mind with the Word of God experience the blessings of God.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that my freedom lies within the pages of Your Word. I embrace what You say and exchange what I think for what You think. I am free and I reign over the sin that had me bound.

The RQ Factor - CD

Your Relationship Quotient

After observing interpersonal relationships for over three decades, Dr. Robb Thompson made a remarkable discovery that he wants to share with you: Contrary to popular belief, the outcome of your life is not determined by your intelligence (IQ), your physical appearance/abilities (PQ), or your ability to manage your emotions (EQ). Your life is determined by your ability to link yourself with those who carry your future within them – your Relationship Quotient.

Using compelling personal examples, Dr. Thompson illustrates how his own life changed for the better only when he changed his relationships. He presents profound principles that will alter the course of your future, if applied – principles such as:

• In life, you decide your relationships; then your relationships decide your destiny.
• If you want to accurately predict a man’s future, just take a look at his present friends.
• Relationships are magnetic – pulling you closer to or driving you further away from your divine destiny.

Proverbs 13:20 says, “Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces” (Message). Are you ready to change your future? It’s time to raise your Relationship Quotient!

Expectation Is The Difference Between An Ubundant Harvest And A Barren Field

“…it shall be done for you as you have believed.”
Matthew 8:13 (AMP)

AUGUST 31 - “Please God, help me find them.” Searching everywhere, she continued to pray. When her brother called, he prayed too. Suddenly she thought: I was wearing that red coat…It must be… Extending her fingers inside the left pocket, there they were—the keys to her mailbox! The moment she realized those keys were missing was the moment she began to pray. And why did she bother to pray? She prayed because she rightly expected something in return—God’s favor and assistance, the bountiful difference between harvest and a barren field.

You may have been taught it is wrong to expect something in return when you give to God, thinking it is a form of greed. Well, let’s examine that teaching. Did you expect forgiveness when you confessed your sins to Christ? Of course you did! Was that greed? No, it was simply trusting God’s character, exactly as the woman who lost her keys. In the same way, neglecting to expect a harvest from your seed steals the pleasure God enjoys from blessing you. God’s greatest pleasure is to be believed. Expectation is the key ingredient that makes the seed work for us.

Whenever we come across a promise of God, we must expect that it will happen in our lives. God is not a respecter of persons. If He did it in the past for His children, He will certainly do it for you. Our faith moves the hand of God. Our obedience to His Word, wrapped in expectation, is what allows Him to move as He desires in our lives. As we sow a seed to meet a need we face, let us expect the promise of God
to come to pass for us.

Father, I thank You that You do not lie. What You speak comes to pass in my life. I place an expectation upon the promises in Your Word, knowing that it is done unto me as I believe.

The Bridge To God’s Will Can Never Be Crossed Until The Bridge From Your Will Is Finally Burned

“Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.”
Matthew 26:42 (NKJV)

JULY 28 - His unmistakable scent; his legendary stride; his fury, his anointing — when Elijah appeared at Elisha’s field, no one could mistake what had happened. The coat of the fiery prophet Elijah was symbolically presented to Elisha, signaling to everyone that Elisha was to follow the prophet of God. At the time, Elisha’s livelihood was his team of oxen and his plow. When the man of God arrived, however, Elisha burned his plow until it became ash and roasted his oxen for a commemorative meal. There could be no retreat, just as there would be no retreat for Jesus when it came time for the Father’s will to be done on the cross. Jesus, as well as Elisha, walked confidently into the will of God. The will of God is not as mysterious as it may seem.

First Thessalonians 5:16-18 tells us exactly what God’s will is for our lives: “Always be joyful. Keep on praying. No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” God’s will is contained in those explicit instructions: Don’t be like the world… Embrace God’s way of thinking… Always be joyful… Keep on praying… And always be thankful.

We fulfill God’s will when we follow these commands. To live in such a way means we must be thoroughly finished with our own way of living. We must burn the bridges to our own righteousness, troubles, and time constraints. The bridge of God’s Word that lies in front of us transports us to God’s will. The secret, nonetheless, is to remain firmly on the bridge.

Father, I thank You that I am not conformed to this world, but I am transformed by the renewing of my mind, and I prove what is Your good, pleasing, and perfect will.

If Any Relationship Does Not Give Birth To Change, Then Any Further Association Is Unnecessary

“As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.”
Proverbs 27:17 (NKJV)

JULY 27 - If the relationship between Joseph and Jesus had not given birth to change, foretelling something new, then their close association as parent and child would have been completely unnecessary. So, with schooling behind Him, wood chips now intriguingly clung to Jesus’ fingertips, the pegs hammered straight, just as Joseph instructed. Change and growth compellingly marked the relationship between Joseph and Jesus, the carpenter and his apprentice. Joseph’s firstborn Son was willing to learn how to work as an adult, convincing others by His presence to live honest and pure.

If you are not changing and growing as a result of your relationships, then what is the point of continuing  them? Is there something beyond the fishing trips and the shopping sprees? We must not allow mediocrity to penetrate our lives through the influence of mediocre relationships! Such influence may appear benign, but like cancer, it is indeed deadly.

If you are going to be thrust into a dynamic future, then you must surround yourself with dynamic, excellent individuals who might sometimes even make you feel uncomfortable, as was often the case with the master and his apprentice—father and Son. These individuals compel you, by their very presence, to unearth the excellence within yourself. Embrace their correction and allow them to be honest with you. By doing this, change is inevitable.

Father, I thank You as iron sharpens iron, I sharpen those I call friend.
