Stop Struggling To Apply The Word To Your Life And Begin To Apply Your Life To The Word

“How shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed and keeping watch [on himself] according to Your Word [conforming his life to it].”
Psalm 119:9 (AMP)

MAY 11 - Right this moment we need to stop using His Word as some sort of tool, erroneously attempting to “hammer out” all our negative circumstances. Instead, why not begin to use His Word as our guide, an informative, life-altering travel guide through life? Lately I have witnessed individuals neglect God’s Word (and it is becoming more prevalent in the church today) until they need help in a certain area of their lives. Their marriage struggles so they discover what they need to do get their marriage back on track, but then they refuse to govern their business by God’s Word. So, as their marriage begins to smooth out, their business begins to crumble and the cycle begins once again. This is not the way God intended life to be!

What does it mean to apply our lives to the Word? It means:

To live by it; to obey its every instruction; to pursue it, and seek
the truth that it contains; to base every thought, word, and decision
on it; to filter every relationship through it; to embrace the authority
by which it stands; to see it as truth, and act accordingly.

God’s Word must govern our lives. Jesus said it like this, “Why do you call Me Lord, Lord and do not do the things I say?” Israel’s triumphant military could have never claimed Moshe Dayan as their Major General if they were not willing to apply their lives to the expertise of his training and education. And we cannot claim Jesus as our Lord yet be unwilling to apply our lives to His Word. The moment we build our lives around His Word is the moment He truly becomes the Lord of our lives.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I please You by heeding and keeping Your Word. I pursue and obey Your instruction and apply my life to Your Word.

All For Hymn: Piano Sessions - CD

The old adage, “They don’t write ‘em like they used to” could certainly apply to the hymns recorded on this CD. These hymns reflect the greatness, majesty, and faithfulness of God and have stood the test of time.

These piano sessions were recorded in a time of worship. Improvisations increased while the hymnsmwere being recorded, which led to new melodic themes and different harmonic structures. Some sessions had more of a classical ‘vibe’ (Holy, Holy, Holy); while some had a gentle quality (Amazing Grace).

Song List:

1. Holy, Holy, Holy
2. The Old Rugged Cross
3. My Jesus I Love Thee
4. Sweet Hour Of Prayer
5. In The Garden
6. Great Is Thy Faithfulness
7. Be Still My Soul
8. Amazing Grace w/ Jesus Loves Me
9. Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
10. Shall We Gather / Sweet By And By

Routine And Habit Are The Roads Which Lead To Undeniable Excellence

“Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but happy is he who keeps the law.”
Proverbs 29:18 (NKJV)

APRIL 2 - Habits determine our ultimate success or eventual failure in life. Our daily routines are critical to our success. There was a set routine put into place by growers to obtain olives for oil production. Just before the olives were ripe, they were either firmly shaken from the tree or nimbly beaten down from its branches with a light pole, tumbling to the ground like hollow rocks. This habit of harvesting is still a familiar Mediterranean sight in September and October when the olives are ready to be crushed for their oil.

If we create and maintain the right habits, we are propelled toward our dream every step of the way. On the other hand, if we put the wrong things into our lives, we actually are carried into the wilderness of life, headed toward failure and frustration.

Our daily habits are the avenue by which we accomplish our vision. If you don’t have a clear vision of what you want your life to become, how will you know which habits to create? It is impossible. Vision keeps us moving forward, driving us to obtain the reward of accomplishment. Without a clear vision, we become a wandering generality, aimlessly looking for a purpose in life. Let’s allow the vision of our lives to prompt us to establish routine responsibilities that are scriptural in nature, in addition to daily habits that are
Kingdom-building in purpose.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I have a vision for my life and I do not perish. I establish habits that cause me to be a success in everything I set my hand to.

All Promotion Must Be Earned It Is Never A Result Of Your Exisitence

“Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.”
Proverbs 21:5 (NLT)

MARCH 9 - In my own life, I had to come to grips with the fact that I must earn any promotion I desire. In America, it is easy to believe we should be rewarded for simply showing up. Many believe you should receive a bonus for being employed through the end of December. God shows us throughout His Word that He desires for us to be promoted. God is our employer, and that is why the apostle Paul encourages us to “work hard and cheerfully at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.”

The modern state of Israel was born in 1948, but it is based upon four thousand years of history and tradition. When Jews around the world learned of their nation’s birth, each one was spiritually promoted.
God finally brought them back to their ancient land, and it is the same God who promotes us.

Any promotion that we receive unethically or through cutting corners will be taken away from us. However, if we earn a promotion through hard work and faithfulness, there is no level we will not attain, either at our workplace or in our spiritual walk. Begin today to earn the promotion you desire. A promotion is not a miracle God grants us apart from our earning it. God promotes anybody who is productive and happy. Heaven watches just waiting, as it did over the Jews, for a reason to promote those who willingly apply God’s Word.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I am diligent all the days of my life. I refuse to expect promotion for which I do not work. I choose to work hard and cheerfully at whatever I do.

Consistent Sowing Is The Precursor For Consistent Reaping

“Don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give up,
for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time.”

Galatians 6:9 (NLT)

FEBRUARY 23 - Thirty-one wonderful years of being a Christian! And what is the greatest negligence I have witnessed in the body of Christ? Consistency. So very few are prepared to consistently do something until they attain the desired harvest they are promised. After the early October rains, the Palestinian farmer rose at dawn to sow seeds, either by hand or from a box attached to his plow. Farm owners, slaves, young men and women, children, just about everyone labored from sunrise to sunset, consistently planting seeds in the ground. Even as darkness enveloped the land, many farmers stayed in the fields, relentlessly protecting their crops. It is quite intriguing that God promised all of us the same blessings, but why do some walk in more blessing
than others?

I don’t ever want to come to a point in my life and discover I could have had something if I would have only stuck with it. In America, it is easy to move from one way of doing things to another. We have a very difficult time being patient because we begin to believe the rest of the world is getting what belongs to us. We then undertake and institute the world’s philosophy instead of God’s, mistakenly looking to the world to show us how to get what we desire.

The Bible says, “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich and He adds no sorrow to it.” God’s way may seem to take a little longer than we would like, but if we continue to consistently do what He commands, we will see our desired harvest. The key is unfailing consistency!

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I do not give up and grow weary in doing good. I am unfailing in my life, and I undertake tasks according to Your standards and not the world’s.

Failure Comes Alive The Moment You Loose Focus

“What I always feared has happened to me. What I dreaded has come to be.
I have no peace, no quietness. I have no rest; instead, only trouble comes.”

Job 3:25-26 (NLT)

FEBRUARY 13 - Born with the rare defect of fused legs, sometimes known as the “mermaid syndrome,” the Peruvian parents of this otherwise vivacious little girl did not fear. Instead, they allowed doctors to perform the risky surgery of separating her tiny legs, the outcome a great success. And it’s no wonder – they had named the child Milagros, focusing upon the “miracle” that they believed would ultimately come to pass.

But rather than dwelling upon the good things of life, Job began to focus on loss. His broken focus invited fear to show its menacing face, which is why he candidly declared, “What I have always feared has happened to me.” Though Job was a righteous man in every aspect, when he decided to focus on the expressed possibility of losing his splendor, he opened the shabby door of fear to overtake him.

Do you live in fear? Do you focus on the possibility of negative things coming to your life? If you choose to focus on the “what-ifs” of life, you’ll persistently exist as a hostage to fear, incarcerated within the solitary prison of pessimistic dread. Conversely, Jesus did something quite different. The “what-ifs” were of no concern to Him. He trusted in the faithfulness of God—confidently recognizing that He himself was able to determine the outcome of His life.

Remember, God is the one who calls into existence what never existed before. You can do the same. So change your focus today, and believe with the fervor of little Milagros’ parents, directing your sights completely upon the God who will never, ever fail.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that You are my God and that You care for me.
I choose to focus on Your promises of eternal life even while I live in this world.
