Your Actions Are Proof Of Where Your Heart Has Already Been

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.”
Matthew 12:35 (NKJV)

JULY 7 -  Why do we find the little girl continuously perusing the doll section of the toy store? Why is the schoolteacher the first to arrive and the last to leave? How is it that Jesus was always found in the temple debating the Scriptures?

We go where our heart goes. Solomon encourages us to guard our heart above all else, for out of it spring the issues of life. There is no greater aspect of our lives than the purity of our heart. God can work within us only to the degree that we keep our hearts pure. Jesus stated, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things.”

Nestled in the seclusion of the hills of Galilee, Nazareth was the place where the angel announced the Messiah’s birth to Mary. Now, with pure hearts, Joseph and Mary returned to their former residence that was to be home to Jesus until His thirtieth birthday.

What is stored in your heart? And what path has your heart already traveled? We must continually check the condition of our heart, because our life moves in the same direction. We must realize that our actions always follow the path where our heart has already been. We can protect our heart and fill it to overflowing with ingredients that lead us down the path God desires for us.

Daily Confession

Above all else, I guard my heart knowing that the wellsprings of life flow out from it. I bring forth good things out of the good treasure that lies within my heart. I am pure and God moves mightily in my life.

You Will Never Discover Your Future While Staring At Your Past

“…I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God,through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to Heaven.”
Philippians 3:13-14 (NLT)

JUNE 4 - The Nativity—a familiar scene of the Savior’s tranquil birth—gives hope to the world by His eventual death, the means through which the darkness of our past is forever erased. And that is exactly why many today do not even wish to celebrate the Nativity scene: they instead choose darkness over the Light. But God went to great lengths to bestow upon us a new future, and is willing to grant it to anyone who embraces it. Enthusiastically He tells us, “For I know the plans I have for you…they are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” God has a good future awaiting us. But how do we possess that great future? One way is to learn from others’ mistakes. Consider the Israelites. They incessantly looked back on their past rather than hopefully toward their future. They were unwilling to fight for the very freedom for which they prayed.

The future God has for us does not come because we want it—we must continuously fight for it. It takes great effort, but the rewards are well worth the cost. The apostle Paul said it like this, “I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead…” Only by focusing on where we are going do we escape where we are. Our entry into the future is dependent upon our departure from our past. We need to open God’s Word and begin to see the tomorrow He has for us. It is a bright and wonderful future!

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I do not look back, for there is no future in my past. I press forward to the bright future of hope and blessings You have for me.

Problem Solving - CD

You might ask, “How does solving others’ problems help me to achieve the life I desire?” The answer is found in one of the powerful principles Dr. Robb Thompson shares in this series. Based on Ephesians 6:8, it states: “Whatever you make happen for others, God will make happen for you.”

Your life will begin to quickly advance as you learn how to become an answer, and not a question, to those to whom you have been assigned. Promotion and favor will chase you down as you implement Dr. Thompson’s practical yet powerful principles. Here are just a few:

• Your value to your employer is in direct proportion to the problems you are willing to solve for him.
• You will only be remembered for the problems you solve or the problems you create.
• When you solve a greater problem, you will receive a greater reward.
• Don’t try to compete with people – compete against mediocrity.

Whether you need to see advancement in your career, business, relationships, or personal effectiveness, don’t miss out on this opportunity to take your life to the next level. The only one who can stop your promotion is you!

Who You Are Is Revealed By What You Do

“You will know them by their fruits…”
Matthew 7:16 (NKJV)

APRIL 20 - Jesus tells us we shall know another by their fruits. I find it interesting how people judge another by what they do, but refuse to acknowledge their own actions. There are many who tell people, “God knows my heart,” yet they live in the depths of sin. Remember, God cannot be mocked. Although we can fool others, we cannot fool God. David prayed, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

Teachers of the ancient Hebrews did not hesitate to take action if their students misbehaved. Employing a strap of reeds, persistently inattentive or habitually absent children would be strictly chastised. These teachers’ actions were a blanket reflection of what they believed —discipline works! Likewise, our actions are a reflection of what lies hidden deep within our hearts…we cannot believe otherwise.

Remember, our actions are a documentation of what we believe; and every time we act, we declare to all of Heaven and earth who we truly are. If we ever seek change in our lives, we must begin to understand that our actions are the proof of who we are. May God help us to examine ourselves, revealing who we really are, going deep within.

Daily Confession

Lord, search me and know me, and rid me of any wicked desire lying within my heart. I am a doer of Your Word. I am known by my fruit and I choose to act upon Your Word. As I act, I bear the fruit of the Spirit in my life.

Sculpting Your True identity - CD

It took Michelangelo six years to carve one of his greatest works, the magnificent statue of King David. When asked why his masterpiece took so long, his reply was simple: “Once I found a slab of marble that I could see David in, all that was left was to chip away everything that was not David.”

You are God’s masterpiece. God placed something great within you that no man can take away, no circumstance can assail, and no words can destroy. The key to unveiling your true potential lies in learning how to chip away everything that is not a part of who God called you to be. Join Dr. Robb Thompson as he shows you how to become God’s masterpiece – whole, polished, and created anew in Christ Jesus!

The Prize Of Character Is Always Better Than The Price Of Adversity

“These trials are only to test your faith, to show that it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—and your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold. So if your faith remains strong after being tried by fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.”

1 Peter 1:7 (NLT)

APRIL 8 - After hearing of the massacres of two Central African missionaries, British-born gentleman, James Hannington fought the criticism and objection of his peers, forsaking a comfortable lifestyle in preparation to take their place. Before being martyred in 1885, Mr. Hannington first lifted his hand to his captors, requesting that the Ugandan king be told that he had purchased the road to their country with his death—a perilous path, yet one highly worthwhile. I admit, in this world, you could suffer for choosing Godly character. The Scriptures warn us that this might happen as we follow Christ. One thing is very sure,  however; when this life is over and we step into eternity, all injustice will cease. Whatever price you pay to have Godly character (even if with your life) will pale in comparison to the rewards that await you. You will have difficulty here on earth, but if you choose God’s righteousness, you’ll never regret the adversity it may include.

Have you yet realized that God is very interested in rewarding you? Yes, He is gracious and loving beyond comprehension, but we must step up to the plate of service in order to receive what is ours. God’s goodness
can only be released through our commitment to walk in His ways, as He expertly uses our times of dversity to refine us—making us even stronger than we are already are. We may never suffer martyrdom as did
James Hannington, but we do have a mandate to help people in any way that God directs. And the only way we’ll accomplish our task and be rewarded for it is if we choose the prize of character, despite the price
of adversity.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You for Your grace that enables me to represent You. Help me to always do what is just in Your sight.

Spiritual Checkup Pack - CD & Book

What is the ultimate prize that this world has to offer? The Nobel Peace Prize? An Oscar? A Super Bowl ring? A lucrative recording contract?

Certainly you can find all types of contests in which to compete and a host of valuable prizes to covet in today’s society. Are you equipped to win the prize and obtain the goal? In this package, Dr. Robb Thompson explains to you how to win the ultimate prize of life – the heart of your Heavenly Father.

Using illustrations from the lives of Biblical men and women, Dr. Thompson vividly portrays what it means to be a person after God’s own heart and how to do the necessary examining of your own heart in the process. He tackles the all-important topics of submission and covenant loyalty – scriptural concepts that are frequently shunned and swept under the collective rug in Christendom today.

As Dr. Thompson so succinctly asks, “What else do you have in life, if you don’t have the heart of the Father?” That’s a question only you can answer for yourself. Pursue the prize of your Father’s heart, and watch everything else in your life fall into place (Matthew 6:33).

The Actions You Embrace Are A Documentation Of What You Believe

“Yea, a man may say, thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith
without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.”

James 2:18 (KJV)

FEBRUARY 17 - For a substantial number of sessions, we are going to enter God’s dwelling place of Palestine, exploring its vibrant culture, its Biblical symbolism, and its majestic pageantry. Did you know that Old Testament Hebrew boys typically followed their father’s vocations such as shepherding, weaving, or fishing? Their distinct actions became a documentation of what they believed about their distinct trades. Shepherds were recognized by their expertise for gathering flocks and extensive knowledge of the elements, while weavers were acclaimed for their technological operation of intricate looms and shuttles, and fishermen were  esteemed for the physical challenges produced by the ever-changing sea.

What you believe is always revealed by your actions. As believers, there are times when we think we believe the Word of God when in fact, our actions prove otherwise. James states that the “proof is in the pudding.” If someone says they believe God’s Word, but doesn’t support it with their actions, their faith is as dead as the nearly extinct occupation of “town crier.” True faith is continually followed by actions. The apostle John confirmed this when he wrote these words, “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments” (1 John 2:3).

Jesus asked His disciples, “Why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and do not what I say?” Like the shepherd, weaver, and fisherman, allow God to help you prove your actions by trusting daily through unwavering obedience.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I am a doer of the Word, not a hearer only. My faith is alive and working, and I prove my faith in Your Word through my actions.

The Motives Of Your Heart Are Revealed The Moment Your Intentions And Actions Converge

“Why are you so polite with Me, always saying ‘Yes, Sir,’ and ‘That’s right, Sir,’ but never doing a thing I tell you? These words I speak to you are not mere additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundation works, words to build a life on.”
Luke 6:46-47 (Message)

JANUARY 26 - William Pryor Letchworth was a New York conservationist, historian, and philanthropist. Upon observing the way orphans and the mentally ill were treated in our nation’s facilities, Letchworth traveled to Europe to study the ways in which the mentally ill could be humanely treated, transforming antiquated practices throughout the entire region. Mr. Letchworth devotedly took under his wing scores of orphaned young men, taking them to his country estate to escape the crime and soot of the big city. Called the “man who always did right,” the pure motives of Letchworth’s heart were blatantly revealed.

Jesus does not look for those who merely talk about obedience; He looks for those who truly obey. The moment we have an opportunity to do what God has tells us is when we either find a heart that longs after God or one still enslaved to the desires of the flesh.

God called us to produce and bear fruit. Jesus told us, “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” The moment we have an opportunity to do what God told us to do, is the moment we either find a heart longing after God, or one still enslaved to the desires of the flesh. Wouldn’t you, like Mr. Letchworth, also like to be called a man or woman who “always did right?” If so, then choose today to become a person who not only intends to do what is written, but who actually completes it.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I glorify You by bearing fruit doing what You ask of me. My faith and good works will be a witness to many.
