“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind He will accept. When you think of what He has done for you, is this too much to ask?”
Romans 12:1 (NLT)
NOVEMBER 2 - Feeling His body shudder with agonizing pain, crucifixion was the Master’s holy sacrifice. Jesus gives us a prime example of what it truly means to worship God—laying down His life in order to please His Father. Remember:
• We owe God our lives.
• We owe love to man.
• We owe obedience to authority.
• We owe worship to God.
God delights in the praises of His children, and if we refuse to worship
the Lord, we rob Him of what is His due.
It is not enough that we obey God; it is not enough that we thank God. The apostle Paul pleads with us to give our bodies, our lives, everything to God, for this is our reasonable worship. All of us must ask ourselves: Have I begun to worship God? We can never say we worship our Father until we first lay our lives upon the altar of sacrifice. God asks all of us today, “Will you lay down your life and worship Me?” Is this too much to ask? Certainly it is not!
Daily Confession
Father, I willingly lay down my life as a living and holy sacrifice which is pleasing to You for this is my reasonable worship.
