“And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”
Deuteronomy 8:18 (NKJV)
JUNE 15 - The iron boot of Rome was distinctly felt throughout Israel. Roman standards waved proudly over the nation’s citadels, while Roman tax collectors gathered funds from almost every village and town. Jewish fathers were required to teach their sons a trade, so Joseph taught Jesus the skill of carpentry, grooming Him to become the well-known woodworker of Nazareth. Jesus’ example demonstrates that God gave us the power to get wealth so His covenant can be established. He desires His children to walk in abundance so that we can be financially equipped to generously fund the Gospel. So what is Heaven’s plan for the Church? To be so well established that the economy does not hinder the progress of the Church. God intends for His Church to flourish, regardless of the geopolitical temperature.
The covenant God made to Abraham cannot be established until we embrace the fact that God gave us power to generate wealth. Money is not evil. We must rid ourselves of that kind of thinking. On the contrary, money is not only a tool God uses to show His goodness to the world by lavishing His people with worldly possessions; its primary purpose is to finance the Gospel. When we begin to allow God to express His kindness and generosity through us, we begin to see financial abundance throughout the body of Christ. Money is a seed to be sown, not a possession to be hoarded. Remember, fear hoards while love gives. Choose today to become the greatest sower the Kingdom of God has ever known!

It took Michelangelo six years to carve one of his greatest works, the magnificent statue of King David. When asked why his masterpiece took so long, his reply was simple: “Once I found a slab of marble that I could see David in, all that was left was to chip away everything that was not David.”
