In Order To Transform Your Life, You Must Be Willing To Change Your Mind

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect His will really is.”
Romans 12:2 (NLT)

SEPTEMBER 11 - The moment you accept Christ as your Savior is the moment you no longer have to wonder when God is going to set you free. You are already free! Jesus already did all He’s ever going to do to deliver you from demonic bondage, bad habits, or mental strongholds. But how do you live in the freedom that is already yours? Jesus tells us in John 8:31-32, “…If you abide in My Word, you are My disciples indeed.

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Right now you stand on the launching pad of life. God’s Word already dwells within you. But only as you continue in the Word do you walk into God’s freedom. And it all begins as you apply Romans 12:2 to your life: “And do not be CONFORMED to this world, but be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind….”

As you look into the Word of God for your answers to life:

It dramatically changes the way you think.
It dramatically changes the way you live.
It dramatically changes everything about you.

There is no other way for an inner transformation to take place. It comes only by renewing your mind with God’s Word.

Father, I thank You that I am free because I abide in Your Word. I refuse to conform to this world but I am transformed because I allow Your Word to change the way I think.

For Enjoyment Sake, People Of This World Choose Conformation, While Those Who Believe In God Choose Transformation

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:2 (NKJV)

JUNE 9 - Marked by peculiarities of dress, ritualistic religious practice, and strict regulations, the most significant Jewish spiritual faction in the time of Christ was, by far, the Pharisees. Their name means “the separated ones,” and held an assumed allegiance to God within the minds of the Jews at Christ’s birth. However, with the advent of the Messiah, could these minds be transformed? Your mind can only hold one thought at a time. Therefore, the easiest way to get rid of negative thoughts is to replace them with positive thoughts. The most effective way to do this is with your spoken words.

Your mind must entertain what your mouth says. The mind is never empty; it is always occupied with a thought. Spoken words override unspoken thoughts. By substituting your thoughts, you can replace troubling thoughts with a God-thought that has the power to transform your life.

You can’t be filled with nagging fear, superfluous doubt, and increased worry when you constantly meditate upon God’s Word. As long as you don’t allow negative thoughts to be planted into your mind, you’ll discover true peace, joy, and happiness. The transformation of your life is distinctly linked to your avid commitment to change the way you think.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I am not conformed to this world but I am transformed by the renewing of my mind. My mind is renewed by Your Word.

Transformation Is The Reward A Man Receives For Embracing God’s Thoughts

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think…”
Romans 12:2a (NLT)

MAY 25 - Passing through the gate of Bethlehem’s marketplace as helmeted Roman soldiers stood guard, merchants vociferously hawked their goods—food, cloth, and provisions of all types. Four and a half miles
south of Jerusalem, the tiny hamlet set in the hills of Judea was about to be transformed, renewed in spirit and in mind through the personages of Joseph, his wife, and the holy Child she carried. The subject of mind renewal is one that should never fade away from our Christian foundations, since all of us desire to be successful in life. God put within us a longing for more, and an innate passion for growth. All of us have the distinct desire for improvement in our lives; we must understand that we do not attract what we want; we
attract who we are. God gave us an avenue through which we can become the person who attracts the very things we desire.

By using God’s Word to renew our minds, He gave us the ability to transform our lives. What a powerful thing! To realize and understand transformation causes one to exceed above the rest. “And why is that?” you might ask. It is because transformation belongs only to those who pursue it and work hard to achieve it. We are not transformed overnight; it is a process very few are patient enough to endure.

As we begin to saturate our mind and embrace the thoughts of God, transformation is the result. God tells us, “…be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Transformation comes only by renewing our minds with God’s Word. May God help us to be diligent and press on until the outcome we desire is finally attained!

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I no longer live or think like the world. I am transformed because I diligently renew my mind to Your Word.

Transformation Is The Result Of A Consistent Pursuit of Excellence

“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:13-14 (NKJV)

MAY 17 - They’re open, 24/7—all-night gas stations, round-the-clock supermarkets, year-round  pharmacies. As believers, doesn’t God also call us to faithfully press forward, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week? Many believers are content to stay as ordinary as battery-run wall clocks, only enjoying fleeting moments of greatness, without ever living a fantastic life.

The common visit excellence momentarily, although in their minds, they think they do great all the time. They always think about the nice things they did last week or last month. At the same time, they wonder why they annually wait in vain for someone to finally recognize their vast achievements. But what they don’t realize is that their pride and their refusal of correction make them utterly unapproachable.

This is a sad observation, but it still stands true—there is absolutely no advancement or promotion without embracing correction. Without embracing the correction and modification that Captain Wingate made in Moshe Dayan’s military life, certain battles might have never been won, and where would Israel be today?

Remember, none of us are perfect. Every one of us has imperfections we must face. However, as long as we continue to pursue excellence, we are headed in the direction that will consistently make us more like Jesus.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I always choose to bow my knee to Your Word. I am a self-corrector therefore I prove my character to be authentic.

The Transformation Of One’s Life Is In Direct Proportion To The Alteration Of One’s Mind

“Do not copy the behavior and customs of this world,
but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.”

Romans 12:2 (NLT)

FEBRUARY 6TH - One of my passions in life is to see others on a continual upward swing of transformation. It hurts me to see people in church hear the Word for many years on end and be no different from the day they stepped foot through the church doors. God did not design life for stagnation. Nothing living stagnates; it continually transforms from season to season or ultimately dies.

Shouldn’t we be the same? If you cannot look back on your life six months ago, or even one year ago, and see any growth, you should examine yourself as to why there hasn’t been any progress. We are to go from glory to glory.

One of the reasons God birthed the message of excellence into my heart is because excellence causes a person to pursue change. Jesus does not allow an individual to stay the same, just as He doesn’t allow the landscape to languish. I have heard it said like this, “God loves you just the way you are, but He wants you to be like Jesus.” Isn’t it interesting that when God welcomed you into His family, He said, “Now you must die and Christ must live through you.” It is not that God doesn’t love us. Remember, transformation of your life is in direct proportion to the alteration of your mind.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that my mind is continually renewed by Your Word. I desire
transformation, and I understand that transformation only comes through mind
alteration. I choose to alter my mind in accordance with Your Word.

To Hear The Word And Forget To Act Is To Plow The Field And Forget To Plant

“But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.”

James 1:22 (NKJV)

JANUARY 13 - “Didn’t he just preach the same thing last week?” the perfectly manicured wife whispered agitatedly into her husband’s right ear. Having listened half-heartedly, the man shifted in his seat, tipping his head forward, fervently trying to recall. In a few seconds, his wife leaned over again, “Did that ignorant woman at the end of our row step on your foot like she did mine, fumbling around trying to find a seat?”

Slowly nodding, the smiling husband finally remembered—it was as clear as a church bell. “Hey, I remember what he talked about last week—love. Last week, like today, he preached about loving one another.” Squirming around uneasily the wife bristled, Why did I even ask? Week after week we continually hear the Word of God, but do you realize we are to be doers of the Word, and not hearers only? I find it interesting how two people can hear the same message, but one benefits and the other does not. The prophet Isaiah tells us, “The Word of God does not return void.” This means that there is no inherent defect in the seed of the Word of God. Nevertheless, Jesus tells us in Mark 4:17-19 why the Word of God can be void in a person’s life—as a result of the condition of the soil.

In Hebrews 4 we see that the Word does not profit us because we do not mix what we hear with faith and action. God’s Word only transforms us in accordance with our commitment to hear and do what He speaks.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I am a doer of Your Word and not a hearer only. I look into the perfect law of liberty and continue in it, and I am blessed in my deeds.

Stop Trying To Apply The Word To Your Life And Begin To Apply Your Life To The Word

“How shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed and keeping watch [on himself] according to Your Word [conforming his life to it].”
Psalm 119:9 (AMP)

JANUARY 8 - Erroneously thinking that the untimely death of his only son was God’s punishment for his sins, America’s fourteenth President, Franklin Pierce, refused to use a Bible at his swearing-in ceremony. Little did President Pierce realize that the Word of God was the very thing he needed—if only he had taken the time to conform his life to the very Bible he so bitterly ignored. If we merely apply a scripture to a situation when it arises, we can’t expect to see growth, change, or mind prosperity. Instead, we must cause our lives to fastidiously conform to God’s Word, as it is the only constant we will ever have in our lives.

In Matthew 16:19, Jesus made a fascinating statement. He said, “And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven…” Notice the phrase, “the keys of the Kingdom.” He did not say “the key of Heaven…” Why is this significant? I could hold the key to your house in my hand, but that doesn’t mean I have the keys of your house. It is true that the key to your house would allow me access into the front door, but then I might find that every door inside your house was locked. I want more than the key to your house—I want the keys of your house.

In the same way, Jesus wants you to experience more than just entry into Heaven. He said, “I will give you the keys of the Kingdom.” In other words, “I want you to experience, in this life, every treasure and promise hidden inside My Word!” Make the decision to conform your life to His Word.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I no longer try to apply Your Word to my life,
I now begin to apply my life to Your Word.

Transformation Is The Finished Product Of Embracing God’s Thoughts

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let
God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.
Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how
good and pleasing and perfect His will really is.”

Romans 12:2 (NLT)

JANUARY 5 - Someone had an idea—and its concept is transforming the way corporate employees do business. In an effort to achieve the highest standard of health, a number of top U.S. business people voluntarily joined running teams. Instead of stepping foot into gourmet restaurants, adding on unwanted pounds, those same feet are now adorned with trendy athletic shoes. The result is noteworthy; not only are these folks improving their bodies, their bottom lines have benefited as well, since networking among these teams has proven enormously profitable. It all began with one transforming thought.

The practice of mind renewal is one that Christians must never overlook. All of us desire to be successful in life, because God deposited within us a longing for more and an intense passion for growth. We have an inherent desire for improvement. But we must understand that we do not attract what we want; we attract who we are. God gave us an avenue through which we can become the person who will attract the very things we desire.

By using God’s Word to renew our minds, He gave us the ability to effectively transform our lives. Transformation belongs only to those who pursue it, working diligently to achieve it. We are not transformed over night; it is a process that very few are patient enough to endure. God tells us, “…be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” As we embrace the thoughts of God, transformation is the result.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I no longer live or think like the world.
I am transformed because I diligently renew my mind to Your Word.
I embrace Your thoughts as my own.
