“The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.”
Proverbs 11:3 (NKJV)
APRIL 25 - If you ever failed in life, would you like to know the main reason why? Most likely, you were willing to compromise your integrity. I like to say it like this: “Integrity is the foundation upon which your life’s work is built.” If you desire to build a great life and achieve great things, the foundation must be strong as hardened concrete. David said: “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Every failure you see in the Word of God can be traced back to a compromise of character— from Sampson to David, from Solomon to Judas.
But why do people compromise? I will not attempt to list for you all the reasons, but one core reason why many people compromise is because they are yet to be persuaded that what God said is true. Take a look at the Scripture above; if people truly believed they would be destroyed if they compromised, they wouldn’t compromise.
After the British (who ruled Palestine during Dayan’s youth) signed an agreement with the Arab nations, they outlawed Haganah, instantly recalling Captain Wingate from the field. Thrusting the militia into secret training in 1939, Moshe Dayan (along with other militia members who refused to compromise their activities), were arrested, tried, and sentenced to prison. In spite of that, they would not negotiate what they believed—they inwardly recognized that the future of their people depended on it! The willingness to negotiate their principles is positive proof that people truly don’t believe God. If you see any faint beginnings of compromise, deal with them immediately, and firmly embrace God’s Word. Your future depends upon it!
