Humility Contains Within It The Willingness To Acknowledge Past Mistakes

“For I recognize my shameful deeds – they haunt me day and night. Against You, and You alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in Your sight.”
Psalm 51:3–4 (NLT)

DECEMBER 1 - It is impossible to make continual progress in life while holding sin in our hearts. God is not a respecter of persons. What He says…He does! God tells us that any man who chooses to hide sin in his heart soon comes to ruin. He also tells us the man who is humble soon comes to wisdom.

Humility is the access key into the presence of God. God resists the proud. We must continually examine ourselves and ask God if there is pride within our hearts. One of the ways we can continue to walk with a humble heart is to willingly acknowledge our past faults. Pride refuses to reveal itself in the form of repentance. However, we must repent if we ever sincerely desire to experience true progress once again.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that You give me the divine example of a life of humility. I humble myself under Your mighty hand, and in Your good time, You will honor me. I give all my worries and cares to You for I know You tenderly care for me.

Your Outward Actions Are Little More Than A Picture Of Your Inner Convictions

“So don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time.”
Galatians 6:9 (NLT)

OCTOBER 3 - The future we desire is connected to the seed we hold in our hands. Many times people tell me, “I don’t have any seed to sow.” If that is true, then God appears to be a liar. In 2 Corinthians 9:10, the Scripture tells us God gives seed to the one who sows. One of the reasons we may not have seed today is because we were unwilling to sow what we had yesterday. God does not hand out seed to just anyone; He gives seed to those who sow. Without sowing, our future looks no brighter than our present circumstances. Why is that? We
cannot create a better tomorrow if we don’t sow better seed.

Over the years I observed how few people really understand this principle. All of us know it, but only a few apply it. There is no greater revelation than the power of the seed. Jesus placed more emphasis on His parable of the seed and soil that on any other parable. Our future lies within the seeds we plant today. We must not limit seed to money. Seed is anything you do that benefits another—

  • Your smile
  • An encouraging word
  • Praying for another
  • Showing hospitality

As we apply this principle, we see an increased opportunity to put it into practice. So don’t get tired of doing what is good, as the Scripture tells us, for we have a bright and bountiful future when sowing becomes our daily focus.

Father, I thank You that I don’t get tired of doing what is good. I reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time because I refuse to give up.

Never Get Caught Up In The Trap Of Knowing Too Much Yet Doing Too Little

“But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
James 1:22 (KJV)

JULY 19 - The most intriguing section of the temple was also the most intimate location in the grand edifice. Just as a veil shielded females’ countenances for purity’s sake, a veil (or thick curtain) separated the holy of holies from the rest of the temple. And although the Jewish priests were very knowledgeable in the  Scriptures, entering past the veil was only for the elect, established for one who truly knew how to  be intimate with the holy God. Intimacy with any person thrives on time spent together, disconnected from the pressures of life.

Our personal intimacy with God is very similar. Many contemporary believers know much about the  Word—they know what it says, but they don’t necessarily adhere to it. Sure they say they do, but their lives don’t reflect it. This is a dangerous trap, because it is very easy to equate knowledge with action, though the two are quite separate.

Consequently, many believers know that they should spend ample time in solitary prayer, yet they don’t do it. Instead, they turn on Christian television to hear about the awesome power of life-changing prayer or pick up the latest best-selling book on intimacy with God. They could even write books about the presence of God and how glorious it is, yet they don’t experience it for themselves. Students are taught theory in schools, but their complete training comes when they enter the workforce and face real-life problems and circumstances. In the same way, the presence of God can only be outlined by theory. Its fullness requires experience by real, consecrated, consistent, solitary prayer.

Father, I thank You for showing me the path of life. In Your presence is fullness of joy, and at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Dr. Thompson shows you how to apply the principles of God’s Word to your life, until you experience the divine health in which God intends you to walk. This book equips you with the spiritual prescription needed to attain health, wholeness, and vitality in your body.

Your Actions Are Proof Of Where Your Heart Has Already Been

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.”
Matthew 12:35 (NKJV)

JULY 7 -  Why do we find the little girl continuously perusing the doll section of the toy store? Why is the schoolteacher the first to arrive and the last to leave? How is it that Jesus was always found in the temple debating the Scriptures?

We go where our heart goes. Solomon encourages us to guard our heart above all else, for out of it spring the issues of life. There is no greater aspect of our lives than the purity of our heart. God can work within us only to the degree that we keep our hearts pure. Jesus stated, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things.”

Nestled in the seclusion of the hills of Galilee, Nazareth was the place where the angel announced the Messiah’s birth to Mary. Now, with pure hearts, Joseph and Mary returned to their former residence that was to be home to Jesus until His thirtieth birthday.

What is stored in your heart? And what path has your heart already traveled? We must continually check the condition of our heart, because our life moves in the same direction. We must realize that our actions always follow the path where our heart has already been. We can protect our heart and fill it to overflowing with ingredients that lead us down the path God desires for us.

Daily Confession

Above all else, I guard my heart knowing that the wellsprings of life flow out from it. I bring forth good things out of the good treasure that lies within my heart. I am pure and God moves mightily in my life.

Promotion Stems From Actions, While Frustration Comes As The Result Of Intentions

“But if you keep looking steadily into God’s perfect law—the law that sets you free—and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.”
James 1:25 (NLT)

JUNE 8 - The Jews intended to believe in the Messiah. They also intended to follow God with all their hearts, intending to learn the Scriptures and the prophecies therein. But obviously, many of them failed to do so
since they crucified the very same Messiah that was eagerly awaited for so many generations. Their intentions faltered—big time!

The blessing of God comes to the person who follows through with his intentions. While we may think our good intentions should bring us promotion, it’s only when there is real progress that we can expect promotion in life. Dormant intentions only serve as a source of frustration.

We must avoid the temptation to believe that we are being cheated or treated unfairly when we don’t receive promotion, even though we have such grandiose intentions. So, where do we begin?

  • First, let us admit that we have ample room to grow in this area.
  • Second, let us determine which of our good intentions deserve our concentrated attention.
  • Third, let us pull out all the stops and go after a solid performance, measuring our success by our actions, and no longer by our mere intentions.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I look steadily into Your perfect law, the law that sets me free. Help me to always be a doer of Your Word, and I know that I am blessed because of it.

Stop Struggling To Apply The Word To Your Life And Begin To Apply Your Life To The Word

“How shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed and keeping watch [on himself] according to Your Word [conforming his life to it].”
Psalm 119:9 (AMP)

MAY 11 - Right this moment we need to stop using His Word as some sort of tool, erroneously attempting to “hammer out” all our negative circumstances. Instead, why not begin to use His Word as our guide, an informative, life-altering travel guide through life? Lately I have witnessed individuals neglect God’s Word (and it is becoming more prevalent in the church today) until they need help in a certain area of their lives. Their marriage struggles so they discover what they need to do get their marriage back on track, but then they refuse to govern their business by God’s Word. So, as their marriage begins to smooth out, their business begins to crumble and the cycle begins once again. This is not the way God intended life to be!

What does it mean to apply our lives to the Word? It means:

To live by it; to obey its every instruction; to pursue it, and seek
the truth that it contains; to base every thought, word, and decision
on it; to filter every relationship through it; to embrace the authority
by which it stands; to see it as truth, and act accordingly.

God’s Word must govern our lives. Jesus said it like this, “Why do you call Me Lord, Lord and do not do the things I say?” Israel’s triumphant military could have never claimed Moshe Dayan as their Major General if they were not willing to apply their lives to the expertise of his training and education. And we cannot claim Jesus as our Lord yet be unwilling to apply our lives to His Word. The moment we build our lives around His Word is the moment He truly becomes the Lord of our lives.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I please You by heeding and keeping Your Word. I pursue and obey Your instruction and apply my life to Your Word.

All For Hymn: Piano Sessions - CD

The old adage, “They don’t write ‘em like they used to” could certainly apply to the hymns recorded on this CD. These hymns reflect the greatness, majesty, and faithfulness of God and have stood the test of time.

These piano sessions were recorded in a time of worship. Improvisations increased while the hymnsmwere being recorded, which led to new melodic themes and different harmonic structures. Some sessions had more of a classical ‘vibe’ (Holy, Holy, Holy); while some had a gentle quality (Amazing Grace).

Song List:

1. Holy, Holy, Holy
2. The Old Rugged Cross
3. My Jesus I Love Thee
4. Sweet Hour Of Prayer
5. In The Garden
6. Great Is Thy Faithfulness
7. Be Still My Soul
8. Amazing Grace w/ Jesus Loves Me
9. Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
10. Shall We Gather / Sweet By And By

Who You Are Is Revealed By What You Do

“You will know them by their fruits…”
Matthew 7:16 (NKJV)

APRIL 20 - Jesus tells us we shall know another by their fruits. I find it interesting how people judge another by what they do, but refuse to acknowledge their own actions. There are many who tell people, “God knows my heart,” yet they live in the depths of sin. Remember, God cannot be mocked. Although we can fool others, we cannot fool God. David prayed, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

Teachers of the ancient Hebrews did not hesitate to take action if their students misbehaved. Employing a strap of reeds, persistently inattentive or habitually absent children would be strictly chastised. These teachers’ actions were a blanket reflection of what they believed —discipline works! Likewise, our actions are a reflection of what lies hidden deep within our hearts…we cannot believe otherwise.

Remember, our actions are a documentation of what we believe; and every time we act, we declare to all of Heaven and earth who we truly are. If we ever seek change in our lives, we must begin to understand that our actions are the proof of who we are. May God help us to examine ourselves, revealing who we really are, going deep within.

Daily Confession

Lord, search me and know me, and rid me of any wicked desire lying within my heart. I am a doer of Your Word. I am known by my fruit and I choose to act upon Your Word. As I act, I bear the fruit of the Spirit in my life.

Sculpting Your True identity - CD

It took Michelangelo six years to carve one of his greatest works, the magnificent statue of King David. When asked why his masterpiece took so long, his reply was simple: “Once I found a slab of marble that I could see David in, all that was left was to chip away everything that was not David.”

You are God’s masterpiece. God placed something great within you that no man can take away, no circumstance can assail, and no words can destroy. The key to unveiling your true potential lies in learning how to chip away everything that is not a part of who God called you to be. You Learn More About A Man By What He Doesn’t Say Than By What He Does

“But someone will say, ‘You have faith, and I have works.’ Show me
your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”

James 2:18 (NKJV)

APRIL 12 - You can almost see her vivid, sparkling caravan muddle through the sand encased desert hills, camels and men adorned in foreign costumes, the beloved Queen of Sheba and her belongings weighty upon their backs. Retaining in her mind the list of questions she had for the great King Solomon, following the tour of his court, she would be awestruck. There would be no words to express the king’s grandeur. If there is one principle that could save you from experiencing great disappointment in relationship it is this: “You learn more about a man by what he doesn’t say than by what he does say.” In order for me to fulfill God’s will for my life, I had to stop listening to a man’s words and instead, intently follow his daily actions.

Whatever a person does or does not do eventually reveals exactly who they are. Jesus said, “Many will call Me Lord on that day, but I will tell them, ‘Away from Me, for I did not know you.’” Jesus also said that we would know people by their fruit.

We all want to believe what other people readily verbalize, so I do not imply that you question their promises. Nevertheless, when their actions contradict their words, you must believe their actions. Otherwise, you will get hurt. The devil is out to hurt you, but you can protect yourself by surrounding yourself with people of integrity and truthfulness. Listen to what a person says, and then closely watch their actions. If they strictly align, like tires to the road, then you know for certain that they belong in your life.

Father, I thank You that I am not just a hearer of Your Word but I am a doer thereof. I show my faith by my works.

Building A Heart Of Love Vol. One - CD

5 CDs

I John 4:16 says, “God is love…” – and when we walk in Him we will walk in love (Ephesians 5:1-2). But if walking in love was that easy, we would all get along famously! So, how do we walk this “love walk?” How do we love? Who do we love? And, most importantly…what does God think about love?

In this first volume, Dr. Robb Thompson examines God’s definition of love. You will discover that God expresses love in actions, rather than words – rather than saying, “I love you,” God shows us through His deeds. Looking to Jesus as the ultimate example of love, you will discover how to “build a heart of love” and, therefore, have the heart of God in every situation you encounter.

Action Is The Missing Ingredient To A Lifetime Filled With Productivity

“…but the message they heard did not benefit them,
because it was not mixed with faith…”

Hebrews 4:2 (AMP)

MARCH 24 - Strategically placed against the serenity of the emerald blue Mediterranean Sea, like a sapphire adhered to its setting, the tiny area of Palestine is even today desired for the robustly productive territory
it contains. Known as the land of “milk and honey” in Old Testament times, distinctive crops and indigenous plants such as black cumin, coriander, anise, cassia, and pomegranate make their home in the rich
soil of modern Israel. When this soil is actively cultivated, delicious goods are produced.

All of us know how important it is to make our works count, and to make certain that what we say actually happens. If we relentlessly hear about God’s Word and never act upon it, then nothing will happen for us. But we must stir the Word of God into our daily habits, as if combining tender Palestinian seasonings into a fantastic dish.
Blending it into our home life as well, it will wonderfully produce. As
we daily act on God’s Word, we experience productivity.

Develop an ability to act; you don’t need to rush, but neither should your time be squandered. Act when the instruction is fresh. There are many who intend to take action, but wait too long and the passion to produce dwindles away like seeds in the wind. Take action today on whatever you have procrastinated. Remember, faith is acting on the Word of God.

Father, I thank You that I am a person of faith. I mix action with what I hear from Your Word. I walk by what You say, and not by what I believe.

Focus Is The Lens Through Which The Determined Explore Life

“Let your eyes look straight ahead, and your eyelids look right before you. Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established. Do not turn to the right or the left; remove your foot from evil.”
Proverbs 4:25-27 (NKJV)

MARCH 6 - Because of the scent and sight of savory stew, Esau’s focus was broken, ripping away his inheritance, his birthright, and his entire life. One of our greatest enemies in life is broken focus. The Bible tells us, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” People of excellence refuse to break focus because they realize that doing so results in their demise. The mediocre always focus on what they go through; the excellent focus on what they go to.

How many times have we decided to rise earlier in the morning to pray more? Then, without realizing it, the distractions begin. Perhaps an untidy area catches your attention and you want to straighten it; your child calls and you tend to them; and then a phone call saps your time. All the while, in your mind, you tell God, “I’ll be back in a minute.” One thing leads to another, and before you know it, the day is half gone. This situation is not uncommon. Days lead to weeks, which lead to months, until one day we look back at our lives and ask, “How did I get here?”

We must continue to look straight ahead and not allow ourselves to be distracted. Esau was sorely distracted and he lost everything! Our ability to maintain focus causes us to rise above the circumstances that come our way, and excel above the expectation of those God called to promote us.

Daily Confession

I attend to my Father’s Words and incline my ears to His sayings. I keep His principles before my eyes and keep them in the midst of my heart, for they bring life and health to all my flesh.
