Financial Freedom Often Masks Itself In Fiscal Stupidity

“Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.”
2 Corinthians 9:6 (NLT)

JUNE 30 - Money is not evil. If it were, any amount you possess would be wrong. This lie causes many to reject the very tool needed to fulfill the Great Commission—“Go into the entire world and preach the Gospel.” Now that takes money! Always keep in mind these three important things:

  • God did not intend for anyone to live in continuous poverty, perpetual debt, or stubborn lack.
  • God placed within us an inherent desire to prosper and brazenly excel.
  • God gave us a desire to press beyond our present financial plateau.

Therefore, we must rid ourselves of the thoughts that contradict God’s Word. Although money doesn’t produce happiness, what we can use it for does. Every time I sow in the kingdom of God, joy floods my soul. I know that my money is some way helping another experience the love of God. Let us ask ourselves this profound question: How can I focus on meeting the needs of others when I am in debt and have no money to pay my own bills?

We are the engineers of our own prosperity. God shows us what we need to do to cultivate a prosperous life. It was never God’s intention for mankind to live in poverty. What father would wish that upon his children? As we apply 2 Corinthians 9:6 and Joshua 1:8 to our lives, we soon make our way prosperous and we have good success.

Daily Confession

I am a generous giver and I reap a generous crop. I observe to do all that is instructed in the Word of God knowing that my way is prosperous and I have good success.

Never Take An Instruction From A Person Who Is Unale To Give You A Promotion

“Then he said to the man of God, ‘Come home with me and eat some food.’ ‘No, I cannot,’ he replied. ‘I am not allowed to eat any food or drink any water here in this place.’ But the old prophet answered, ‘I am a prophet, too, just as you are. And an angel gave me this message from the Lord: ‘Bring him home with you, and give him food to eat and water to drink.’” But the old man was lying to him.”
1 Kings 13:15-19 (NLT)

JUNE 29 - When the package is opened and the shiny appliance is set upon the kitchen counter, the box is tossed into the trash, leaving behind the dilemma of knowing exactly what to do with that little booklet of irritating instructions. More often than not, that multi-lingual set of garble called the “instruction manual” is stored in some unknown locality or thoughtlessly hurled away with the box.

The man above was given a precise instruction from God, yet when another man came and gave him a new instruction, he thoughtlessly “hurled away” what God initially told him to do. The point is clear. If we accept instructions from people who are not responsible for the outcome of our future, we find ourselves in a lot of trouble we could have avoided.

“Arise, and take the young child to Egypt.” This was a simple, yet life-saving instruction from God, the only one with the authority to promote Joseph, Mary, and Jesus into the destinies He had in mind. God designed the earth in such a way that Godly promotion only comes by submitting to authority and following their instructions. On the job, at home, or wherever you spend your time, make a decision not simply to decline instructions from those who cannot promote you, but also to carry out your instructions from right authorities promptly and with excellence.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You for giving me Godly authorities. Help me carry out my instructions from the people You empower to promote me.

Heaven Smiles Upon Those Who Possess “Humility Of Heart”

“God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us.”
Psalm 67:1 (NKJV)

JUNE 28 - An unassuming teenage virgin; an inconspicuous carpenter; a discreet birth; an unobtrusive Child—these people, and these circumstances possessed great humility of heart, refusing the nauseating pride that this world deceptively offers. We must never forget that Heaven shines favorably upon anyone willing to humble themselves. And humility takes on many forms.

However, for it to be genuine, humility must always first reside in the heart. Remember, God looks at our heart, while man looks on the outward appearance. Humility is proven by the attitude with which we serve another.

What is your attitude when you do what you have been asked to do? God delights in the humble; He moves towards the humble looking to manifest His power and glory through their lives. Humility is the open door that allows God to work, first in us, and then through us. Heaven desires to shine brightly upon believers, but until we humble ourselves, we are never able to experience God in this most excellent way.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I am crucified with Christ. I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. I now live by faith in Your Son who loved me and died for me.

Future Success Is Undeniably Linked To The Understanding Of Your Identity In Christ

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)

JUNE 27 - “It has to be Him!” the devout Jew tottered toward the young family of three, his face aglow as the noonday sun. Having received the divine message that he would not die until he personally witnessed Israel’s “salvation,” Simeon’s new identity arrived inside this otherwise obscure temple dedication. Have you yet realized, along with Simeon of old, that God sees you in Christ, He sees greatness in you, and He has a destiny for you? When He looks at you, He sees success and a winner. He sees Jesus, His Son!

You are not destined to lose, because He made you victorious through Christ. If God made you a winner, then what are you waiting for and what keeps you from success? God waits for you to believe it about yourself. It doesn’t matter what God believes about you; what really matters is what you believe about you. Which are you going to believe, your past or what God says?

What you meditate on and routinely contemplate soon manifests into action reflecting the thoughts you harbor, good or bad. Your life is an outer image reflecting your inner projection. Every thought God has concerning you is written on the pages of His Word. He tells you who you are, what you have, and all you can do through Jesus Christ. You are born into the family of God through the incorruptible seed of the Word of God. You are a child, an heir of God! It is time to step into your rightful place, knowing your identity, just as Simeon did.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I am crucified with Christ. I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. I now live by faith in Your Son who loved me and died for me.

Regardless Of What You Are Going Through, Remember, God’s Word Is Always True

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
Matthew 6:34 (NLT)

JUNE 26 - Here is a comprehensive definition of worry:

  • To strangle
  • To harass
  • To treat roughly with continual biting or tearing with the teeth
  • To annoy
  • To bother
  • To cause to feel troubled or uneasy
  • To make anxious

Now, does that sound like something you want?

Worry is really believing more in your circumstances than you do God’s Word. Yes, it is true many don’t see worry as something that is terribly wrong, but is this true? Is it acceptable to worry? Doesn’t God’s Word command us to be anxious for nothing?

God does not lie. He cannot lie. In fact, it is impossible for God to lie. If I am worried over a given situation, it is because I don’t believe what God said concerning my circumstance. Jesus said in Matthew 6:34, “Do not worry…” Understand, Jesus doesn’t make suggestions; His words are not to be disregarded. He commanded us to never worry about another thing again, and if He commanded us not to worry, rest assured, He soundly gave us the ability to obey Him. May we bring great pleasure to the Father by trusting in Him with all our heart!

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I am free from worry because I trust in the Words You speak.

Too Much Talk And Noth Enough Action Is As Worthless As A Perfume That Has No Fragrance

“Work brings profit, but mere talk leads to poverty!”
Proverbs 14:23 (NLT)

JUNE 25 - Talk is as cheap as second-hand goods! Nevertheless, we must become men and women who no longer simply talk about what we are going to do. Instead, we must carry it out. For far too long, we have talked about what we are going to accomplish; now it is time to back up our words with corresponding actions. God proves everything He says with action—He always fulfills what He promised. We must do the same.

We see in the above Scripture that work brings profit, but mere talk leads to poverty. That principle holds true for all areas of life. Getting fit, building Godly habits, and investing resources—these are things we can begin immediately. We must go beyond knowing that we should do something and actually do it. People are often content to simply know something — they then feel they don’t have to do it.

The apostle James tells us, “But be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only.” Hearing the Word does nothing for us when action is absent. We must put action to our words; this leads us to the promotion God desires for us.

Daily Confession

Father, I continue in Your Word. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. Therefore I alter my life in accordance to Your Word. I know the truth and the truth makes me free.

Any Statement Left Unchallenged Is Established As Truth

“I told you the truth I heard from God, but you are trying to kill me. Abraham wouldn’t do a thing like that. No, you are obeying your real father when you act that way.”
John 8:40-41 (NLT)

JUNE 24 - First Century Jerusalem—King Herod to the Wise Men of the East: “…Go and search diligently for the young Child; and when ye have found Him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship Him also.” God could not leave King Herod’s hideous lie unchallenged. Herod had no intention whatsoever of worshipping the King of all kings.

Now, God knew that something drastic had to be done, so He gave one of the Wise Men a dream, alerting them of Herod’s false intentions. As a grown man, Jesus understood that any lie left unchallenged is established as truth in the minds of those who hear it. That principle is true for us, too. Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy. He knows that if he can cause us to believe a lie, he is able to control our lives.

We must confront and counterattack every wicked and deceitful thought with the Word of God, which is why it is imperative that we study the Scriptures. Only when we have the truth can we fight and conquer deception.

Remember, deception believes a lie to be true. Therefore, people do not know they are deceived. They think they are doing the right thing, but the enemy artfully blinds people from the truth. We must pursue God’s truth and pay any price to press into the Word of God. As we grow in the knowledge of God and confront the lies of Satan, we walk in greater depths of truth and freedom.

Father, I continue in Your Word. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. Therefore I alter my life in accordance to Your Word. I know the truth and the truth makes me free.

Never Attempt To Take Authority Over Something For Which You Are Not Responsible

“Jesus replied, ‘If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You follow Me.’”
John 21:22 (NLT)

JUNE 23 - King over Judea at the Savior’s birth, Herod attempted to use his authority by quizzing the Wise Men concerning the Child’s whereabouts by craftily asking for information upon their return via Jerusalem. Nonetheless, God intervened, warning them not to meet Herod at the palace, but to travel to their country another way, halting Herod’s plan to do business outside of God’s desires. Deviously, and with great pride, Herod took responsibility over that which did not concern him.

The journey of promotion is abruptly halted when this principle is violated. It often shows a superior that the current responsibilities are not enough for the employee. Rather than fulfilling his or her own duties with excellence, the employee decides to spend his or her time in someone else’s business.

Let’s look at another Biblical example. The moment Peter stepped outside of his responsibility, Jesus quickly rebuked him. We see how seriously the Lord takes this issue. It wasn’t that Jesus tried to keep something good from Peter by not telling him about John; Jesus tried to lead Peter on a path that would be best for him. Jesus understood that getting involved in someone else’s business is self-sabotage! Peter had to focus 100% on his responsibility, which meant that he could put no thought into what another person had to do.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that I mind my own business, and that I do the things I am commanded to do. I refuse to compare myself with those around me, knowing that I do everything as unto You.

You Must Never Allow Yesterday’s Victories To Cloud Today’s Priorities

“No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.”
Philippians 3:13 (NLT)

JUNE 22 - “Something’s wrong with the scale; I couldn’t have gained five pounds,” she grimaced, stomping hard enough to cause the digital numbers to flicker. “Well, stop and think,” countered the husband, tapping his fingers on his chin. “Do you think it could’ve been the party? Didn’t you say, ‘I ran two miles this morning so a couple of pieces of chocolate
cake shouldn’t hurt me?’” Suddenly, she remembered.

After great success, why do we often feel as though we can depart from the disciplines that carried us to that success? A woman aspiring to become more fit has a productive workout, then indulges in unhealthy foods and rationalizes her shortcoming with her recent success.

A minister has a great day vibrantly teaching the Word of God, and then falls into sin the next day. A believer powerfully shares the Gospel with an unbeliever, and then neglects to pray and study the Word. Satan’s counterattack to our success is to tell us we don’t need to maintain the practices that brought us success. He seeks an opportune time, and immediately after success is often a time of least resistance to
his suggestions.

After God does something awesome through our life, or following a great accomplishment, we must faithfully continue to reach new levels in all areas of life. God desires us to develop further, even as we
reach milestones. The enemy tempts us to slow down and relax after our accomplishments. We must refute that temptation and use our victory as a launching pad for even greater things in the future.

Daily Confession

Father, I thank You that above all things I prosper and walk in health even as my soul prospers.

Life Is Never Defined Not By What You Can Get, But By What You Can Give Away

“In the same way, the Lord gave orders that those who preach the Good News should be supported by those who benefit from it. Yet I have never used any of these rights. And I am not writing this to suggest that I would like to start now. In fact, I would rather die than lose my distinction of preaching without charge… What then is my pay? It is the satisfaction I get from preaching the Good News without expense to anyone, never demanding my rights as a preacher.”
1 Corinthians 9:14-15, 18 (NLT)

JUNE 21 - What an incredible man Paul was! The situation described here is a result of the shortcomings of the Corinthians. Though Paul was their spiritual father, the one who freely gave of himself so they could hear the Gospel, they did not treat him justly. Instead, they unwisely gave honor to people who did much less for them in comparison to Paul.

And what was Paul’s response recorded in the Scriptures above?

• He never demanded his rights.
• He diligently worked to add to the Corinthians, not to use them for his opportunistic gain.

Do you go to work adding value, or are you like crawdads in a bucket? Every time one crawdad almost makes his way out of the bucket by walking all over the other guys, another crawdad reaches up, pinches his leg, and pulls him right back to where he started. You can live that way if you choose, but you will have nothing to show for it. Instead, be the one to propel others to their promotion. Go to work to add value, not to use others.
